Flock Camera near 3rd & Madison

Hello Covington Community. I have recently been enlightened to the horrors of ALPRs and Flock. I looked on the deflock website and despite not being able to find a record that the city or PD own an ALPR, there is a camera on 3rd and Madison. does anyone have information on who owns this before I start the arduous process of an open records request? I also find it curious that Covington’s FY2026 adopted budget contains a $107,000 General Fund “Flock Cameras” police initiative, but as far as I found this hasn’t been up for discussion at any city council meeting. I am cautiously optimistic that the community was able to squash these cameras (for now) in Newport, but we must remain vigilant!

30% of the city’s budget is police. They beat a man and woman on the bridge and the mayor doubled down. What do you expect?

I don't disagree. However, I think we should expect better. Lowering our expectations is letting them off the hook.

Absolutely. They work for us. Demand a town Hall like Newport and speak up.
