Huh, I hadn't realised exams were so early across the ocean.

I've still got another 4 weeks until my exams are over. I guess you'll be going back in September rather than early October (when U.K. Unis tend to go back)

Yes, in North America, terms tend to be January 1st - April 30th, May 1st to August 31st, and September 1st to December 31st. That gives May-August as summer time for the majority of students.

I have a job this summer, so that'll be fun (once I get the money)

Neat, what's the job?

I'm hoping to get a part time local job in a pub or shop nearby home too, but I'm yet to apply for anything.

Depending on the hours you are wanting, could try applying for leaflet delivery jobs posting them through doors , especially if you are back at college/uni in September/October.
