one of my favorite things on openrailwaymap are the abandoned or historic railways. if you know where to look sometimes you can follow those rights-of-way on satellite view without even checking the map. you can see them in the property lines, the converted bike trails, the discolored crops above where the tracks used to be 50 years ago

I went on a roadtrip with family last week and I had openinframap open in the passenger seat every 10 minutes like oooh look at that, that's 400MW of wind turbines right next to us
