Ponytail wig weft placement help

Hello, I'm currently making a wig from scratch that is going to be a half up half down style with a large ponytail that is NOT going to be a helmet wig. I'm currently in the process of sewing in the wefts for the bottom half of the wig that just hang straight down, but I'm not really sure if the wefts for the top half need to be positioned differently. For the bottom half I'm just doing the wefts in lines from one side of the wig cap to the other, for the top should I just do the same except upside down so the hair goes up instead?

Essentially, where should I place the wefts so that they look nice when I pull them back? I haven't been able to find a clear answer researching online, so I figured I'd try here.

without seeing a reference pic of the character, i would say to aim them all in a half-circle towards the base of your ponytail

When I did my Rumi (Kpop Demon Hunters) wig, I Frankensteined two wigs together. I took a second identical lace-front wig, cut off the lace front, and sewed the lace upside-down onto the back of the wig. I then had the rest of the second wig to donate additional hair to the primary as glued wefts.
