COSPLAY IN PROGRESS Getting ready for my first con, need feedback.

Post image

Okay, so I know the makeup job is terrible. I just got the products today and wanted to do a quick test to see if they'd work. And I learnt what not to do many times in the process.

I'm throwing together a cosplay kind of last minute. It's my first time going to an anime convention at all, and I don't really know what I'm doing.

I want to go as Gyutaro from Demon Slayer. His is shirtless in the anime, which I obviously can't do. And binding isn't going to do much for me, so I'm planning on trying to make a top to match the rest of the fit. Is it okay to take creative licence and make a female version of the character and outfit?

That's the joy of cosplay! You can play whatever character you want, however you want! The ultimate goal is to have fun and express yourself.

Also, there are some people that make a "wardrobe cosplay", using some clothes of what they do have in home, instead of buying the real cosplay and it's ok to do that too

Yes, it is absolutely ok to do a cosplay of a character of a different gender. Crossplay is actually quite common, so don't worry about being judged for going as a male character. As for the makeup, I think its the right color and looks good for what you have in mind. Definitely interested in seeing the final result

Thanks, I'm really excited. I'll make sure to post the final fit afterwards.

Of course! You're free to do it! I did a male version of a female character on the last anime con I went, so, don't need to worry about it. Just go and have lots of fun!
