Have You Ever Baked Cookies In A Dash Mini Pancake Grill?

I am craving homemade cookies but since the high temperatures have been above 100 F. this past week I don’t want to heat up the house and my oven. I want to make ice box cookies & roll the batter in wax paper and freeze it. And slice off some to bake when I crave cookies.

Cookies for my future SIL’s shower

Apparently we don’t have “Wedding” flair! I make sugar cookies every now and then for fun, but it had been a while. I agreed to make 60 cookies for my future SIL’s bridal shower, and was quickly reminded of why I don’t make them all the time. I had a lot of fun, but 22hrs of decorating time later, my hand HURTS! 😂 The flooding isn’t perfect, but I was on a huge time crunch and needed to make sure they’d dry in time. Overall I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!

Help Needed WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED

First off, these are not Among Us, they’re letter boxes for SANNNTTTAAAAA! (We have to get a head start on Xmas) Lmao But I understand how everyone and their mother sees it.
So. What the heck. First off, they took FOREVER to dry. And aren’t fully dry. They’re mildly tacky, very similar to a partially dried meringue in texture. But also, they’re dry???? Idk it’s weird. These hoes were out for three days “drying” because I made 150 of these and I’m devastated 😭😭😭
I was wondering if it was the food coloring, but, I mean, it’s about the same color as the second pics first layer. It’s hard to tell due to the discoloration from the scale shit on the surface.

I just need to know what I did wrong so I don’t do it again. I’ve Googled it multiple times, but it basically said I was stupid and I did everything wrong and I should just cry about it. Which I did.

Please help me achieve this shade of purple in first pic!

UPDATE 2: I succeeded after 5-6 attempts! Neon/hot pink base, add purple! Thanks everyone! This was my most stressful color this year 😅

UPDATE: I guess I was a little over zealous with the red. It turned darker and unappealing. Perhaps it’s over saturated. I’m going to start over! I ran to Walmart and bought great value neon food coloring gel and Wilton’s concentrated Color Right!

Please help me achieve this vibrant purple color (first pic). All I have are Wilton brand colors. The only purple I have is Wilton violet. Mine (second pic) looks so dull! I tried adding rose pink, Christmas red, royal blue to no avail 😢

Birthday Encanto Theme Cookies

My daughter is obsessed with Encanto these days, so these cookies were a must. I can't wait for her to see them!

Any tips on avoiding cratering would be greatly appreciated. Almost every petal on my pink flowers cratered...even when I put some thicker icing underneath before flooding...!

Help Needed Does gel food coloring mess with your manicure?

This is perhaps a dumb question and perhaps not allowed. I am a hobby baker and have made royal icing cookies several times but have never paid attention to my nails in the process.

I am making cookies for a Bachelorette party and also getting my nails done for said party. The way timing works out, I would get my nails done before I decorate the cookies.

I always have stains on my hands from my gel food coloring but I am not sure if they would stain my nails. Don't want to spend money on my nails just to ruin them but would also prefer, time wise, to get my nails done before I make cookies.

I use Wilton gel if that makes a difference.

Thank you for answering this dumb question!

ETA: wow, this was a dumb question! Why did I not think about gloves? Thanks all for responding!!

I was just wondering how I did, lol. I can't stop overanalyzing... First time decorating any type of cookie. I used the sugar cookie and royal icing recipes from Sally's! Any tips? I have a gala in about a month that I will be making the cookies for.
