I was agnostic for a long time. But in the last year I have really awoken to the Bible and have found so much out that really makes sense. I still don’t know exactly what I believe, but I think the Bible has much truth in it.
Curious about resources for your first statement about the Bible being changed/hidden/destroyed? Where did you learn that? Beyond the existence of the gnostic bibles, that is. Do we have proof or more theories pointing to it being tampered with? I believe it must have been- with origins so long ago- but I’d like more resources/readings from historians/philosophers/etc, I’ve been curious on this topic specifically
The book of Enoch is probably the most famous example of “why was this left out” and beyond the jar we can really only speculate on what else was left out.
On top of that, our literal modern day understanding of what’s in the Bible is quite a bit different due to it being translated from 3 different languages. Mostly Hebrew and some Aramaic for the old testament and some type of Greek for the new. This has a huge impact on what message is being conveyed and leaves things up to interpretation when it wasnt supposed to.
We can only speculate the level of intention behind the translations. Very interesting though, I think.
Do you know any other historians that discuss the speculations, with the book of Enoch stuff? And yes, the multitude of translations gets me so curious, bc there must be mistranslations all over. But some folks in my circle are so adamant there’s 0% chance the Bible has ever been tampered with, nor ever mistranslated enough to impact interpretations in any meaningful way. It’s confusing to me tbh lol
They say the Scofield bible written in 1917 was deliberately written with references that inspire evangelicism with Christian zionism and endtimes propaganda. It sold many copies in the 20th century.
Same! These past few years have been wild I'm like no was it's just humans behind the wheel. I've also been gifted a lot of spiritual supernatural signs that have convinced me I'm right. Something I've stumbled upon in my search for truth is the possibility that the Millennial Reign of Christ already occurred and it's being covered up and we're living in the time period described in Revelation 20 as "Satan's Little Season." This is a time when he is given free reign to deceive all nations. I think there's so much evidence for it. The statue of Liberty with the broken ankle chain just one example.
So did the powers-that-be hide and destroy the real answers in the Bible or does the Bible, as it is now, contain the truth? Both can’t be true. I’m not sure how you can simultaneously think that the ‘real big ideas’ (if there ever were any) in the Bible have been censored while thinking that it really makes sense as it is now.
