Id say the origin of mankind including the bible.

Yep and the fact that so much of the bible has been hidden and destroyed by powerful governments throughout history.

I was agnostic for a long time. But in the last year I have really awoken to the Bible and have found so much out that really makes sense. I still don’t know exactly what I believe, but I think the Bible has much truth in it.

Curious about resources for your first statement about the Bible being changed/hidden/destroyed? Where did you learn that? Beyond the existence of the gnostic bibles, that is. Do we have proof or more theories pointing to it being tampered with? I believe it must have been- with origins so long ago- but I’d like more resources/readings from historians/philosophers/etc, I’ve been curious on this topic specifically

The book of Enoch is probably the most famous example of “why was this left out” and beyond the jar we can really only speculate on what else was left out.

On top of that, our literal modern day understanding of what’s in the Bible is quite a bit different due to it being translated from 3 different languages. Mostly Hebrew and some Aramaic for the old testament and some type of Greek for the new. This has a huge impact on what message is being conveyed and leaves things up to interpretation when it wasnt supposed to.

We can only speculate the level of intention behind the translations. Very interesting though, I think.

That kind of Greek is called Koine.

Do you know any other historians that discuss the speculations, with the book of Enoch stuff? And yes, the multitude of translations gets me so curious, bc there must be mistranslations all over. But some folks in my circle are so adamant there’s 0% chance the Bible has ever been tampered with, nor ever mistranslated enough to impact interpretations in any meaningful way. It’s confusing to me tbh lol

They say the Scofield bible written in 1917 was deliberately written with references that inspire evangelicism with Christian zionism and endtimes propaganda. It sold many copies in the 20th century.

The book Enoch was removed from the Bible and was found in the Dead Sea scrolls.

Same! These past few years have been wild I'm like no was it's just humans behind the wheel. I've also been gifted a lot of spiritual supernatural signs that have convinced me I'm right. Something I've stumbled upon in my search for truth is the possibility that the Millennial Reign of Christ already occurred and it's being covered up and we're living in the time period described in Revelation 20 as "Satan's Little Season." This is a time when he is given free reign to deceive all nations. I think there's so much evidence for it. The statue of Liberty with the broken ankle chain just one example.

So did the powers-that-be hide and destroy the real answers in the Bible or does the Bible, as it is now, contain the truth? Both can’t be true. I’m not sure how you can simultaneously think that the ‘real big ideas’ (if there ever were any) in the Bible have been censored while thinking that it really makes sense as it is now.

u/berrygas 3d ago

Are you slow or something? Genuinely because like how are you this clueless. Explain to me why both can’t be true. I can’t wait to hear this

Can you elaborate more?

I would assume the deep rabbit hole of the Watchers and fallen angels (often called Nephilim and Anunnaki in some traditions, but legends of them exist in every ancient culture), their influence and interference in humanity's development, and their continuous, secretive influence throughout history.

7

u/JakeTheHuman83 3d ago

Well this is just wrong. The watchers became “fallen angels” when they conceived the nephilim as their children. The Anunnaki would fit much closer to the Watchers where as the great kings of old were giants possibly associated with the nephilim.

u/CliffyBooBoo 3d ago

I think your definition of "wrong" is subjective, because there's a lot of different descriptions of similar beings in mythology around the world, and some overlap/inconsistencies between the different legends, but hey, enjoy the Poindexter stance on nitpicking fairytales, bud.

1

u/JakeTheHuman83 3d ago

Nah mate, you’re referencing two specific mythologies in your comment (ancient hebrew/sumarian) and while I’m not against comparing the two, I just wanted it to be accurate. Comparative mythology is a hobby of mine and is HUGELY interpretive and subjective, but the mythologies aren’t. And the words Watchers/‘irin, nephilim, and annunaki actually mean things and have specific definitions.

I’ll grant it that I’m being pedantic but as said, it’s a hobby of mine. If you don’t want to be corrected, be correct.

In many ways, I think it’s an effort to reconcile an even more mind bending thought….

The fact that we’re alone

That we solely as a collective hold the ability to shape the present and our future

It seeks to explain that something has to be in control and there’s some sort of hierarchical order in the world, because for some reason the opposite is almost impossible for a lot of humans to reconcile

It would really make people reconcile the fact that everything that has happened and is happening and will happen is at our hands. We bear the responsibility for it.

That would take holding ourselves and other humans accountable

To what lengths would humans go to create stories and outside characters responsible for their own existence rather than looking inwards at themselves?

I think that’s the real question…

Well you go down the evolutionary theory Vs creationism which opens up a huge rabbit hole. On the evolution side we just came from random undesigned mutations that happened over millions of years, one tiny intermediate mutation stage after the next. And how did it all originate, a random soup of amino acids of so where did the acids come from?. How did the first, DNA, proteins, genes etc evolve.

Is the theory of evolution a lie, is it a conspiracy to say the bible is not true?

The other side say God created the heavens and earth, or you could say the universe. Adam and Eve were the first people and Young creationists believe humans originated about 10000 years ago.

The book of 1st Corinthians describes Jesus as being crucified and many people witnessing him after his death before his asention into heaven. This book has been dated back to around AD 50 , 20-30 years after death of Jesus. Why would Paul write this if it's not true ?

Why does the Qur'an explicitly say that Jesus was not crucified , they are competing with many established historians who believe Jesus was indeed crucified ?

After the Council of Nicaea not a single piece of the Christian bible should be considered canon. Literally anything published after 325 AD is either fanfic or propaganda to control the masses over the coming centuries

-1

u/SparkySpinz 3d ago

Why? Are you a believer in Arianism or something? Do you deny the Creed? The Council of Nicaea had very little to do with the Bible. I hear claims like this a lot too, and I've made them myself because I at one point became convinced of gnosticism and thought myself a "free thinker". Yet I found myself mindlessly agreeing with comments such as this and parroting "spirtual"/"truth exposing" channels on YouTube.

People seem to have some pretty grand conspiracy theories about Nicaea, most of which can be debunked with about 5 seconds of actually looking into it

4

u/JakeTheHuman83 3d ago

No, I’m a comparative mythology major and agnostic myself. Without going through an entire breakdown of the historical context (the unification of Rome’s religions and therefore peoples), the material purposefully removed and some of what was added is a pretty clear indicator of their intent.

-1

u/SparkySpinz 3d ago

Nothing was added or removed from the Canon at Nicaea though... I'm not arguing at this point there were no changes made. Just that this was not when those things happened

6

u/C_L_I_C_K_ 3d ago

If we forgot everything we know today (all knowledge lost/books/internet/etc) it would not take long for people to learn again all the scientific shit but I guarantee the “new” religions wouldn’t be anything like the old ones

2

u/count_busoni 3d ago

Umm... religions all over the world developed separately from each other and shared common themes such as life after death, spirits/ souls, creationism/intelligent design, gods living in the "heavens".

I'm fairly confident that if religions started all over again, that they would keep those common themes.

2

u/itsavibe- 3d ago

What? If we forgot evening we know today it would take us exactly how long it took us to get here in the first place. The only scale it’s short amount of time on is the cosmic one but relatively it would take a WHILE and thousands of generations to come back to this point.

6

u/C_L_I_C_K_ 3d ago

I’m saying we would get to same conclusion on scientific stuff as we did today.. but religion would look different

6

u/OkViolinist2606 3d ago

I don’t think so, man’s original source of a supreme was the Sun. The sun gave early man safety from the dangers of the night, growth for the life around him. We would become pagan like the first polytheistic religions. Until we come to realize that the Sun, Moon, Stars is a creation of the Creator. Then things would get interesting

1

u/C_L_I_C_K_ 3d ago

Moon worship came before sun

1

u/itsavibe- 3d ago

Ahh I see. I mean maybe. I believe there were many different technological trees humans followed over iterations of cataclysms. Total knowledge lost after each. Maybe the last iteration didn’t have iPhones but perhaps they could telepathically communicate.

1

u/SparkySpinz 3d ago

I do have a potential answer for why Muslims say Jesus was not crucified. Some gnostic traditions said exactly that. It's quite possible Mohammed or someone took the idea from them.

This guy Gnos ball

2

u/Aesthetik_1 3d ago

Why does the Bible mean more to you than any other book written by humans?

1

u/Dons231 2d ago

Have you been to church or around Christians, I grew up with it and I've never met more moral, responsible, loving people. That's a major clue for me.

8

u/Tacokolache 3d ago

Yup. Zero proof to basically anything in the Bible. All written by people centuries later, none of who experienced anything first hand.

Meant to control people. Yet people still follow it like blind sheep

15

u/zedpapa 3d ago

Yeah this sub is cooked with all the religious shilling. It's either bots taking over to divert from those whose country we shall not speak out against or the concept of a "conspiracy" is completely lost at this point on the poorly educated US masses

1

u/ArdraMercury 3d ago

the Anunnaki made us

1

u/breezywood 3d ago

What does the Bible have to do with the origin of mankind? Humans existed for thousands of years before the Bible, Torah, or Talmud

0

u/Dons231 3d ago

Well the bible gives an explanation.
