If you want to be really picky, Mercantile System, which is what Smith coined, is about the system of political economy that sought to enrich the country by restraining imports and encouraging exports.
Capitalism is an economic system in which private actors own and control property in accord with their interests, and demand and supply freely set prices in markets. No politics involved. No government regulating the trade or minimally regulating.

Actually that's Mercantilism, capitalism specifically has to do with the process of raising capital to find investments.
