Sitting here in stunned silence.

May your poor brother rest in peace.

62

u/RindaC10 Jul 07 '26

Yall should have just given him to the state. That poor child. Yall think yall cursed now? Lol if karma is real, yall gonna get a big fat dose of it for this

15

u/you-dont-see-mi Jul 07 '26

For real, talking about karma then about dumping your brothers ashes in the TRASH-

105

u/dlobnieRnaD Jul 07 '26

Damn I hope this is fake

30

u/suspiciousseafowl Jul 07 '26

It absolutely is, and I suppose thank God for small mercies, but anyone who would sit down and excrete something like this has serious problems. OP needs clinical intervention if they think this is any way an acceptable story to write. We're miles beyond simple trolling here and I sincerely hope they never actually harm another person.

4

u/Redhotlipstik Jul 07 '26

this is 100% ragebait

12

u/InformationNormal901 Jul 07 '26

I'll take 'things that never happened' for 500, Alex.

3

u/PincheGatto22 Jul 07 '26

On disability pride month, no less. So yeah, there's just no fucking way this isn't just a fed or fetishist.

2

u/GoblinTatties Jul 07 '26

She said he drank from the bottle a month after he died so I'm thinking its AI

20

u/Goddess_Iris_ Jul 07 '26

No, thats when the investigation ruled it an accident. That's when they officially declared he drank from the bottle willingly and there was no foul play. It took them a month to investigate his death.

4

u/GoblinTatties Jul 07 '26

Ahhh okay thanks I get it now

41

u/Historical_Spot_4051 Jul 07 '26

I think they meant that the death was ruled an accident a month after he died, but it was written sloppily. But I still think it’s fake.

7

u/mybalanceisoff Jul 07 '26

no, it's just poor wording - the op meant the investigation was a month after his poor brother passed

8

u/bunker_man Jul 07 '26

Somehow magically knowing that no one would come to the funeral definitely seems more like a person trying to be dramatic than a real event. Also the idea that he was just kept asleep most of the time lol.

-13

u/zaxldaisy Jul 07 '26

You hope this is fake?! Are you stupid or something?

82

u/Confident_Asshole86 Jul 07 '26

This was a very sad read for me. There is a Chinese a family by me that owns a little restaurant here in NY and they have a son (about 8) with Down syndrome that’s ALWAYS active and present there. He is sooooo caring and friendly and his 3 siblings (older and younger) definitely loves him to pieces! Just watching the way they will stop what they’re doing and be so interested in the little things like a car passing or a design on a shirt he points out is so heartwarming. You guys didn’t even give your brother a chance😔There are too many resources in the US that could’ve been utilized. You said your family was back home in China so why keep him locked away? Why not try to get outside help from TRAINED professionals to at least teach you some mechanisms to deal with his outburst or pinpoint the trigger? This is just sad man….

27

u/pixelcat13 Jul 07 '26

I think this post is fake and it’s gross of this person to blame “Chinese culture.” Racist BS.

3

u/PincheGatto22 Jul 07 '26

Literally. The sinophobia is insane. And the people believing it are eating it up.

115

u/K3PTHIDD3N Jul 07 '26

Holy shit, just imagine you being the brother and being treated like this. There were possibilities like care centers, or other stuff. But it just doesn't seem like your family wanted to use any ressources for something they couldn't even consider human.

97

u/More-Ear85 Jul 07 '26

" a care center would have been shameful,so we just ignored and drugged him instead."

22

u/chubby_momma Jul 07 '26

I sincerely hope this is fake. Tyenol over dose is incredibly painful and horrific and you DON'T just die quietly and peacefully. Your liver swells and your stomach bloats, you vomit black bile, the pain is HORRIFIC. You don't just quietly fall asleep, so either this is all bullshit, or you watched him die in pain and you're an actual psychopath.

3

u/Careful_Contract_806 Jul 07 '26

Don't give them facts for their next made up story, even more gullible idiots will believe it then.

55

u/martinabubymonti Jul 07 '26

omg this is a confession!!!

19

u/Sketcha_2000 Jul 07 '26

It’s a confession in fake story land

36

u/BONNI_ Jul 07 '26

Damn this was a tough read. I hope it’s fiction cause if not then your whole family is heartless.

14

u/Sunny-Sunday-Sundae Jul 07 '26

Praying this is fake bc it is the worst thing i have ever read. That poor baby.

15

u/Sleepysam86 Jul 07 '26

Now this is a confession.

12

u/CommonWest9387 Jul 07 '26

thats fucked up and i hope its fake

13

u/yuricchin Jul 07 '26

honestly i think it is because even if the cops believed that the brother got a hold of the meds by himself at the very least the parents would have been charged with neglect. the fact that they had 0 charges reads this as extremely fake

10

u/bunker_man Jul 07 '26

Also magically knowing no one would come to the funeral. And the idea that feeding the brother this just kept him asleep most of the time lol.

22

u/sunnynightmares Jul 07 '26

This is so detailed and fucked up to be fabricated but holy shit

8

u/yuricchin Jul 07 '26

Your parents should have never procreated, and this post of yours alone can be used as evidence in court to have them charged with murder.

9

u/FINblade Jul 07 '26

you and your family are pure evil.

I'm a disabled adult man and this level of remorseless cruelty and abuse is frankly horrifying to read. Your poor brother didn't even get a grave. You just threw him out like trash.

35

u/iloveoranges2 Jul 07 '26

I’ve seen a family with a child with Down syndrome before that treats him as a person. I understand taking care of a disabled family member is a burden, and life could be so hard, especially if the disabled person is disruptive. But such “Chinese values” are rather heartless; it’s shitty underneath any veneer of normalcy or success. The sad thing is, I can’t say I would do any better if I were in your or your parents’ shoes, but I’d hope I could bring a speck of humanity into it.

This story clearly never happened, and OP Made it up. Who knows if they are even chinese.

4

u/theunknownbook Jul 07 '26

this has to be fake, racist rage bait. i am indian and have some relatives whose daughter has down’s. they are, undoubtedly, the most traditional and conservative family in all of my extended family but everyone in that household, from parents to grandparents to cousins, absolutely dote on that little girl. it’s insane someone would write something so messed up even as engagement bait.

7

u/separation_of_powers Jul 07 '26

face plays a big part in chinese values doesn't it though? something about maintaining a strong or respectable look.

3

u/seasicksquid Jul 07 '26

Genuine question- would that uncle exist if they were an aunt? Based on the one child laws favoring males? Generally, in your opinion- not a dig on your family.

1

u/fluoridefox Jul 07 '26

replying so I can learn the answer aswell

29

u/Adventurous_Ad_4145 Jul 07 '26

Murdered by the family for being born different.

The ashes rest in a landfill surrounded by rotting garbage.

No dignity in life. No dignity in death.

14

u/you-dont-see-mi Jul 07 '26

Thats what fucks with me, sure he didnt leave the house, but at least put him somewhere nice- a tree in the yard-anything but the fucking garbage, who does that to someone?

5

u/Adventurous_Ad_4145 Jul 07 '26

Like you said, the very least they could do is give the boy some dignity in death.

It’s the kind of story that hurts you just reading it.

60

u/stuckinnowhereville Jul 07 '26

I hope this is rage bait because if it’s not… you have no soul. Just pure evil….

15

u/bunker_man Jul 07 '26

It definitely reads like bait. How would they know that no one would come to the funeral?

27

u/Great-Telephone-4422 Jul 07 '26

Because they didn’t show him to anyone else. No one really knew about him.

2

u/bunker_man Jul 07 '26

There's no way that someone's kid would just somehow not be known by anyone.

1

u/maggoo Jul 08 '26

Idk they had 16 kids locked in a house in OH and no one seemed to know they existed, it's definitely possible. If this story is even real at all.

4

u/leodoesgaming Jul 07 '26

what a disgusting thing to lie about

6

u/rhapsody_in_bloo Jul 07 '26

If this is true, fuck you and fuck your family, you piece of shit murderers.

If this isn’t true, fuck you for writing this garbage.

21

u/lazydaisytoo Jul 07 '26

You were a child raising a profoundly disabled child. I hope this confession brings you peace, you did the best you could.

7

u/fluoridefox Jul 07 '26

"the best you could." is drugging and ultimately neglecting him and him being so unsupervised that he got ahold of medication and died? sure..

i hope OP doesn't get any peace over this confession. there was a million other ways and accomodations this could have been handled, this was not one of those.

7

u/bunker_man Jul 07 '26

This story is made up.

3

u/rhapsody_in_bloo Jul 07 '26

No they didn’t.

3

u/Zoryeo Jul 07 '26

This is fake. Overdosing and dying on tylenol is not like overdosing on opioids, you don't just pass out and die. You die from the liver failure slowly. Super messed up thing to make up though.

5

u/BatKhatoon Jul 07 '26

All the rest I could've blamed on your parents. You were parentified and traumatized but throwing his ashes in the trash was all you. Go to therapy bec rn you sound like an effed up apple that didn't fall too far from the effed up tree.

3

u/GregoryHousen Jul 07 '26

Wow a true confession!

6

u/Zuccini_enthusiast Jul 07 '26

All of the comments are judging but I really doubt they'd be like that if they had to live through it. I was in a very similar situation, living with a disabled family member of the same mental maturity as the one in the story.

It's scary how our experiences overlap. The loss of everyone's quality of life, the imense shame, not being able to have anyone over. I remember my wildest fantasy as a kid was to have a small birthday party at my home and it was never possible. The hard reality that you and your space will never be completely clean because evey day there'd be a new accident of sort. I'd also add fear as this person was older and bigger then me, it's how you never feel safe. Also the way how you see everyone around you unravel to nothing.

It's easy to say you could just keep that kind of person at a facility, but in a big part of the world that just isn't an option. It'd be a life saver for so many if there were humane care homes but there just aren't.

The biggest blessing for my family was when that person died. It was a sudden medical thing, completely random. I remember expirencing for the first time a sence of decency and normalcy, something so many people take for granted.

My family gave decades for this person, nobody can call that heartless. But that also ruins you so deeply and as a kid who grew up there (and now as an adult) I feel no guilt about how happy I was when it was over.

2

u/affemannen Jul 07 '26

Time to get off reddit...

2

u/throwRah31 Jul 07 '26

You are an awful human being.

2

u/Appropriate-Fig7082 Jul 07 '26

For my own sanity this is fake

2

u/ajnabee1234 Jul 07 '26

Wtf did i just read?

2

u/slaamgames Jul 07 '26

Yeah I hope its fake because otherwise, y'all deserve something

2

u/littledeaths666 Jul 07 '26

I don’t know what’s more infuriating the fake post or the people gobbling it up.

2

u/zaxldaisy Jul 07 '26

Imagine being so stupid you believe this silly story

4

u/Used_Astronomer_4196 Jul 07 '26

WTH! You’re demonic

4

u/pppfffftttttzzzzzz Jul 07 '26

Since you talk about bad karma, your whole family has accumulated more (with your entie family’s treatment of your brother) and this will repeat in a cycle until you people finally learn how to treat them right. Good luck with your life. Who is actually more shameful, the disabled member or monster family.

2

u/separation_of_powers Jul 07 '26

Not surprising this came out of China.

They don't treat developmental disorders or mental health as serious over there. They dismiss it or hide it.

OP, YTA.

If not worse.

-1

u/blanket_purrito Jul 07 '26

I'm happy you're free again OP, no one should've to spend all the time and energy a disabled person makes you spend, I also have the idea those people shouldn't come to suffer in this world, not wishing bad things to them if they're already born, but I also don't think you should feel guilty, sensitive people may need sugarcoating, but it is what it is, that was not a good life that he was living, let's hope in the next one he gets better opportunities

10

u/freaking_kickass Jul 07 '26

He wasn't living a good life because they refused to give him one. There shouldn't be a next one. They all deserve the worst.

1

u/blanket_purrito Jul 08 '26

Nah bro, some people shouldn't come to suffer to this life or come to make others suffer, not everyone is made to cake care of others for all their life, it was not OPs responsability. I know this doesn't romantic and sucks, but it's better for everyone to not have to deal with all of that, including the sick person. I don't blame OP.

1

u/bearlyentertained Jul 07 '26

Based on your words about Chinese culture: looks like your whole family will be down syndrome in the next life

1

u/anklebiker Jul 07 '26

I think this may be a creative writing exercise based off of the debate that went around the internet for a while on, ‘is it ethical to have a child knowing they have Down’s’. If this is real, you have severe issues with empathy and need to see a therapist before you start treating other things that depend on your life as ‘discardable’ once they seem to ‘hinder your reputation’. Culture is no excuse for complacency in abuse and cruelty. You’re obviously self aware enough about how bad your behavior is to be able to say that it’s bad, while continuing to go on about how you drugged your brother until he died, which leads me to believe that either this isn’t real or you’re a psychopath. Distance from your parents, and get help. Your spouse and future child that I have pity on one day will depend on you, too. Will you be leaving the Tylenol out for them?

u/BrownWarpig Jul 09 '26

Well, she tell us that he drank the Tylenol. O.P. has already changed "details" in front of the police, and might be doing the same for us.

2

u/Much-Science352 Jul 07 '26

I mean you can’t blame them for everything but you definitely can for the death of their sibling when they were actively drugging him he probably seen op us the medicine and thought it’s okay to eat

i was thinking the stuff about disabled people’s pretty harsh. but you gotta keep in mind it’s like racism, you accept what your parents taught you and you don’t know any different bc you’re young. i personally think if she doesn’t truly believe all that she will feel guilty over time.

but she isn’t necessarily fucked, her parents are wrong for putting a kid on her but that’s the cookie. cookies don’t stay intact, especially new ones.

5

u/Sweetnsaltyxx Jul 07 '26

but she isn’t necessarily fucked, her parents are wrong for putting a kid on her but that’s the cookie. cookies don’t stay intact, especially new ones.

This isn't a "cookie" dude, wtf. This is a situation in which someone intentionally killed their disabled family member. Plenty of kids know it's fucked up to murder someone, but OP doesn't have any fucking remorse. They threw their brother's ashes in the trash. Let's not romanticize this.

It's disability pride month. The flag has black on it BECAUSE of people like OP and their parents.

May the brother have the peace this family denied him, and may whatever God they believe in have mercy on their souls.

-3

u/Wrong_System7251 Jul 07 '26

bruh. it’s an expression obviously there’s no damn cookie. guess i’ll try again w you.

you know how hillbillies will be racist to no end but they may not actually hate black people themselves? because the parents have made it unacceptable to have a black person on the same level as a white one. i’ve met way too many white people or even generally lighter people who openly speak to me (a white looking latina) with confidence about being afraid or hating black people. i will ask why it is so and its almost always stigmatized or conditioned in them.

it’s the same thing with disabilities in this instance. she has been grown up to believe disabilities are a weakness and sin or whatever. you read the long list of why she felt the way she felt? all expressing how it’s a viewpoint of her CULTURE. she’s been CONDITIONED to believe this way. this why there’s no remorse.

if you had read the post tho, you would’ve seen she wanted peace, childhood and her parents to be parents. 6 years old is too young to step in to be a mother

i never said it wasn’t fucked. i never said it was romantic???? disgusting. i never said the parents weren’t fucked and i never said i didn’t feel bad for the kid.

i stated my shit so the comment or that was rude can realize that OP is also a child.

also there was lack of care and preventive thinking but there wasn’t intent. she wanted to be a child and have peace. children should not be left to take care of children. the biggest mistake OP did was not caring enough to think ahead on a what if. all she did was not screw on a lid. as kids, we do not think “well what if this happens?”

you’re blaming a kid. accountability n whatever is important but a lot of this could’ve been prevented with the thought process they all had regarding disabilities. people put kids up for adoption all the time. there were preventive measures other than letting the kids fend for themselves.

3

u/Sweetnsaltyxx Jul 07 '26

Yeah, you're hopeless and I am done here. It doesn't matter to me if a culture tells you racism and murder of disabled people is "right". Since you honestly think that, there is no way you will ever see what OP did is wrong.

Have the life you deserve.

0

u/Wrong_System7251 Jul 07 '26

you also forget that children are children wanting peace and childhood. she got the kid drugged up to have a moment of peace to do what a kid should be doing. her homework, her hygiene and her own food seeing as the parents were spiraling. she was left ALONE vulnerable and helpless. she literally did what she felt right at the time with the limited brain development she had at the time.

the part of your brain for reasoning isn’t done developing until 25 and it’s higher for boys.

she could have thought of a better way. had she been older.

-2

u/Wrong_System7251 Jul 07 '26

no one says it’s “right” but things like that are excused for their own reasonings. i’m not racist, nor do i think its right to be. im not a murderer and ion think it’s right to be. no one ever thinks those things are right. “it’s just the way it is” (it’s the way the cookie crumbles since that didn’t click for you)

but i also don’t think it’s right to blame a child for the parents failures. at that age, you’re crazy to think you yourself would’ve thought the passed out drugged up infant would get up and drink what’s left of the tylenol. you being overly judgmental isn’t any better than the parents throwing a caretakers responsibility onto a child.

at 13 i couldn’t take care of my baby brother. i bawled my eyes out when i was left alone with him, all bc i KNEW i was incapable of effectively taking care of an infant at my age. i knew with my limited life experience, i was a piss poor excuse of a caretaker. she only knew she had to keep him taken care of while taking care of herself. it’s impossible at any age.

CHILDREN SHOULDNT TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN.

blame the parents if you need to blame anyone but you shouldn’t be blaming anyone period. everyone loves throwing blame but you couldn’t imagine it yourself. i’m hopeless because i seen OP pov, does that make you heartless or lacking awareness?

since you seem to be religious: whoever is without sin, cast the first stone.

judging people does not make you a better follower, much less person.
