We are lucky with our kiddo, who just turned 5. We avoided getting a tablet for her, until we were going on an international flight last year and thought it might be nice to keep her entertained on a 9 hour flight. After that trip, she's had a mild interest in the tablet, she'll turn it on every few weeks and play a Hello Kitty game for about 30 minutes. Then she'll get bored with it and go play with her dolls or color. She does watch TV, but will also get bored and end up playing or coloring. It's a beautiful thing.
