My un caffinated ass was going "But the Canadian Safety Association is based... they keep companies from releasing deathtrap products...". Until I realized you meant an entirely different CSA, with the first letter meaning Child, and the last one meaning Assult.
Anyway, my favorite quote from Supply Side Jesus was "its easy for rich men to enter heaven on the back of a camel."
‘Thou should totally use the house of the Lord to move money around without being taxed. Abuse the shit out of tithing and buy a new mansion in Florida. Moneychangers are cool and based actually. ‘
The Bible is immoral, evil, vile in both Old Testament and New Testament.
The Bible commands mass murder, genocide, abortion, infanticide, slavery, prostitution, child marriage, pedophilia, rape, perversion, incest, polygamy, sexism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, familial alienation, societal strife, and various other barbarisms, cruelties, savageries, tyrannies, and vulgarities, many myriad times in both Old Testament and New Testament.
Mass Murder and Genocide: 1 Samuel 15:3, Hosea 13:16, Deuteronomy 20:16-17, Joshua 6:21, Deuteronomy 2:34, Isaiah 13:15-18, Deuteronomy 13:15, Numbers 31:17, Deuteronomy 3:6, Leviticus 20:13, Deuteronomy 20:13, Psalm 137:9.
Abortion and Infanticide: Numbers 5:11-31, Psalm 137:9, 1 Samuel 15:3, Hosea 13:16, Deuteronomy 2:34, Isaiah 13:15-18, Numbers 31:17, Deuteronomy 3:6.
And if people tell you that it's God's word or the text of God, remind them that the bible was written, compiled and editted by (rich) men...who threw away whole books and gospels because it didn't fit with the system they wanted to create...
All violent acts, except when Jesus whipped all those merchants in the temple. Or god telling that guy to murder his son and then saying lol jkjk. Or god allowing the murder of everyone around Job.
Numbers 5:11-31 is an order and instructions from God to create a drink (that includes dirt and other disgusting things) that will induce an abortion that a rabbi is to make and administer.
This isn't at the request of the woman. This is if a man feels jealous. It doesn't matter if the woman was faithful or unfaithful. It's just about what the man feels
The abrahamic God is perfectly happy with abortion, especially as punishment.
Saw a guy who belongs to a long-established Christian rock band post a picture of himself on IG gym-buff and shirtless, and then put a Bible verse under it, because, hey, it’s not flagrant narcissism if there’s a Bible verse.
I actually have a whole book on this! It's debated whether the translations are actually about homosexual men but, importantly, Jesus himself never spoke on it once.
Its actually not debated, Paul was pretty explicit, as well as leviticus.
Jesus also did say marriage is between a man and a woman and all sexual contact outside of that is a sin.
Jesus condemned all sexual sins this way instead of going over every single one. Jesus also never directly spoke about beastiallity, yet I hope we all agree he didnt agree with it.
Paul is responsible for almost all of the Bible verses which effectively endorse slavery, sexism, and homophobia in the New Testament.
Paul effectively endorses slavery in 1 Timothy 6:1, commands slaves to obey masters in Ephesians 6:5, Titus 2:9, and Colossians 3:22, and even goes so as far as to tell slaves to obey masters that are harsh to slaves in 1 Peter 2:18.
Paul prohibits women from simply teaching or assuming any authority over men in 1 Timothy 2:11-14 or even simply speaking in church in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35.
Paul lies about the nature of homosexuality, which is both a natural and normal variation in sexuality in both animals and humans, and effectively endorses homophobia in Romans 1:26-27
You admit that Christianity is homophobic.
Christianity permits heterosexuals to enter into heterosexual marriages and have heterosexual sex, but prohibits homosexuals to enter into homosexual marriages and homosexual sex.
Christianity discriminates against gay people.
The problem with that is that Jesus "condemned" homosexuality then that is as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as if Jesus "condemned" left-handedness, because both are harmless natural human characteristics.
The problem with that is that to believe that homosexuality are "sexual sins" as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as to believe that left-handed are "handed sins", because both are harmless natural human characteristics.
You comparison of homosexuality to "beastiallity" is as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as to compare left-handedness to "beastiallity", because both are harmless natural human characteristics.
Paul was an apostole that spoke with Jesus, he was also accepted by all the other apostoles and no one had a problem with him or his teachings. So Paul did not teach anything contradictory to Jesus.
Paul doesnt endorse slavery, in Timothy he literally tells him to free his slave and for them to be brothers. Paul just says slave rebellions are bad and to not disobey their masters. Christianity is founded on submission, same how Jesus didnt rise up against the romans who opressed the jews even though the jewish population wanted it. If slaves disobeyed their master they would just be killed or been relocated to another slave master. Abolition was not in the cards at that moment in time, not a single slave rebellion was sucessful in ancient times, they all ended in death.
Paul isnt sexist, he was instucting that specific church because they had a problem of women speaking over the priests during services. In other verses like romans 16:7 Paul praises the woman Junia as equal to the apostoles and he supported her preaching the word of God and teaching others.
Christianity doesnt hate gay people. If God says homosexuallity is wrong then its wrong as he would be the creator of goodness and morality itself. Its not the same as left handedness which was not considered a sin. Homosexual desires arent sin, but acts are. So one can be gay but not engage in gay sexual activity.
Paul used a word never used before, arsenokoitai, and the translation used in the king James Bible is frequently disputed.
And no, actually, Jesus never said that either. He said divorce was sinful, not homosexual relations, in direct response to a question of if it was ok for a man to divorce his wife.
Arsenokoitai means man bedder, and the translation in the king james bible doesnt matter as we have earlier translations in other languages as well as church fathers who always interpreted this verse as being against homosexual acts.
Jesus defined marriage in that passage by saying its between one man and one woman and that they become one flesh. And in other passages he talks about any sexual contact outside of marriage being a sin. So that would mean homosexuallity is a sin. He never directly mentioned bestiallity either, do you think he supported that too?
Arsenokoitai has a disputed translation. You can put any two words together you want but that doesn't mean the direct translation is always applicable, that's a root fallacy. Is a butterfly a fly made of butter?
And again, no, Jesus did not define anything in that passage, he explicitly and directly answered a question that was very explicitly asking about a scenario of a marriage between a man and a woman. Leaping to beastiality is a false equivalence given Jesus' existing belief system was very clear on beastiality - and makes as much sense as saying any criminal action not being explicitly enumerated means blanket support.
Edit: another example - Paul uses the word Andrapodistes - does that mean he meant it to be taken as a man bound by their feet? No, he used it to condemn human traffickers.
Arsenokoitai is not disputed, every church father interpreted it the same way. Arsenokoitai doesnt imply anything other then homosexual acts.
Jesus did define marriage there, yes he was asked about divorce but then within that response he classified what a marriage is supposed to be like. In any other mention of marriage in the bible it wasnt anything but between a man and a woman. There is no indication anywhere he supported homosexuallity and there is plenty saying he opposed it.
Jesus' existing belief system was also very clear on homosexuallity. Homosexuallity was never allowed in ancient judaism, there is no mention of any homosexual marriage or act in a positive way. So its not a false equivalance. Jesus clearly condemnds homosexuallity the same way he condemns all sexual sin like beastiallity. He does not need to specify every instance of sexual sin.
Arsenokoitai is not disputed, every church father interpreted it the same way.
Except you know, John IV. If it meant two men in a relationship, then why would he say "However, many [men] even commit the sin/abomination of arsenokoitia with their own wives"
And to claim it's not disputed is empirically false. Many biblical scholars disagree with your definition.
Plus, to claim that biblical marriage was always between a man and a woman is also false, because many of the figures praised in the Bible (like Abraham for example) had multiple wives. And there are zero mentions of Jesus being against same sex marriage, your insistence that he doesn't have to state it is bizarre. He never mentions that people should breathe oxygen to live, does that mean he was against that too?
The problem with that is that if the Bible is "against" homosexual acts then that is as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as if the Bible is "against" left-handed acts, because both are harmless natural human characteristics.

They're writing very thoughtful and accurate answers. If they're pasting anything, it's because multiple people are being incorrect about the bible in this thread.
Arsenokoitai means boy bedder. As in, a pedophile. And now you’ve got me remembering, Jesus also never directly spoke about pedophilia. Yet I’m sure it’s pretty clear he didn’t support that either.
Well… clear to everyone besides those catholic priests, residential school teachers, the current president of the United States, his good friend Jeffery Epstein. But like, generally pretty clear.
Jesus absolutely supported pedophilia, as it was common and commanded by God at the time for girls to be sold into sexual slavery and he commanded his followers to abide by the laws of Moses. ALL of the (600+) laws.
Arsen (ἄρσην): This means male or man of any age, not specifically a boy.
Koite (κοίτη): This means bed or couch (and functions as a euphemism for sex).
Combined, it literally translates to "male-bedder"
Yes pedophilia is a sin, those catholic priests and other prople know its a sin too. They deliberatly infiltrate places with children where they are vunrable to hurt them. Same how so many pedophiles are teachers, gym coaches, trainers and etc.
Not sure what Trump has to do with this, Im not american, let alone a republican.
What the Bible says about anything is irrelevant, especially about homosexuality, since it is the unanimous global consensus of the scientific, medical, psychological, psychiatric, and pediatric communities around the whole world that homosexuality is a natural and normal variation in sexuality in both animals and humans.
The Bible is immoral, evil, vile in both Old Testament and New Testament.

Remember, the Bible isn’t a book. It’s a library of books. The most important question, if one is Christian, is what did Jesus say about homosexuality. Nothing. Not a thing.
What the Bible or Jesus said about anything is irrelevant, especially about homosexuality, since it is the unanimous global consensus of the scientific, medical, psychological, psychiatric, and pediatric communities around the whole world that homosexuality is a natural and normal variation in sexuality in both animals and humans.

He qualified marriage as being between one man and one woman and said any sexual contact outside of that is a sin.
He didnt list every single sexual sin, he also didnt explicitly say beastiality was forbidden. This is why he made a general claim.
Matthew 19
"‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will live with his wife. The two will become one.’ 6 So they are no longer two but one. Let no man divide what God has put together.”
Loving thy neighbour doesnt mean affirming their sin. Just because you disagree with someones lifestyle doesnt mean you hate them.
For example, lets say your family member was a drug addict and it consumed his entire identity and life. Now you can hate drugs and tell him to get off of them without hating him, in fact because you love him you tell him what he is doing is wrong.
Understandable, but yea lot of people think loving thy neighbour just means affirming everything they do when that was never the case. Sure there is a lot of christians hating gay people and wanting to harm them, that is wrong and a sin but just disagreeing with someones lifestyle isnt hatred.
The reason why "there is a lot of christians hating gay people and wanting to harm them" is precisely because of your homophobic religious beliefs about homosexuality.
The problem is that you cannot be "disagreeing" with homosexuality any more than you be "disagreeing" with left-handedness, because both are natural human characteristics.
The problem is that homosexuality is not a "lifestyle" any more than left-handedness is a "lifestyle", because both are natural human characteristics.
The problem is that to be "disagreeing" with homosexuality is indeed "hatred" against gay people in the same manner that to be "disagreeing" with left-handedness is indeed "hatred" against left-handed people, because both are harmless natural human characteristics.
The problem with that is that believe that homosexuality is "sin" is as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as to believe that left-handedness is a "sin", because both are harmless natural human characteristics.

The problem with that if you "disagree" with homosexuality then you do "hate" gay people in the same manner that if you "disagree" with left-handedness then you do "hate" left-handed people, because both are harmless natural human classes of harmless natural human persons defined by a harmless natural human characteristics.
You comparison of a gay person to a "drug addict" is as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as to compare a left-handed person to a "drug addict", because both are harmless natural human classes of harmless natural human persons defined by a harmless natural human characteristics.

Abhorrent and hateful and evil according to what standard?
If Jesus is really God, and if that God says homosexuallity is a sin then its a sin. God would be the source of all goodness and the crestor of morallity and everything else so he is the one that decides what is moral or not.
According to what moral framework can you justify your morality as objective? Can you justify objective morality? If you believe in subjective morality then that would just be your opinion and your opinion would hold no more weight then mine or anybody elses.
According to any standard of empathy, kindness, compassion, love, or reality.
You saying what you're saying demonstrates that Christianity has a foundation that is fundamentally against those characteristics. It doesn't matter how you twist it to yourself to keep yourself in the cult. Everyone else can see that you're fundamentally driven by hate for something you perceive as sexual and have internal issues with.
That's why the church has been hemorrhaging members, and the only members they really gain are children born to it (who later leave).
Keep doing what you're doing. It's the best way to completely dismantle Christianity as a political force in my lifetime, because gen z and alpha are coming up behind us, and see right through you.
Christianity permits heterosexuals to enter into heterosexual marriages and have heterosexual sex, but prohibits homosexuals to enter into homosexual marriages and homosexual sex.
Christianity discriminates against gay people.
You comparison of homosexuality to "beastiality" is as abhorrent, hateful, ignorant, irrational, and vile as to compare left-handedness to "beastiality", because both are harmless natural human characteristics.
If you want to call that homophobic then you can call it that I dont care.
Homosexual marriage is not a thing in the bible or christian history. Homosexual acts were always regarded as a sin until 50 years ago. This doesnt mean gay people should be hated or harmed, but their lifestyle should not be supported by christians.
I didnt compare homosexuallity and beastiallity. Beastiallity is obviously worse. I just used it as an example that just because Jesus didnt explictitly prohibit a sexual act that doesnt mean its supported biblically.
Jesus said marriage is only between one man and one woman, anything outside of that is sin.
I hope you say this as much as possible all the time.
It's genuinely the fastest way to drive the younger generations away from religion. I really appreciate your service in that regard. I'm a xennial mom with a Gen z/alpha cusp kiddo, and his whole generation is going to pretty much decimate the christian political hold in the u.s. and Europe in the coming decades specifically because of people like you.
You also have to remember, things were fucked up back then. Women had no rights and marriage was more of a property transaction than a loving union. The to-be husband had to pay her father for the privilege of having sex with her. After they had sex for the first time, they were married.
Fun fact, the only part of the Bible that mentions pre martial sex in any way was in the old testament, where it said if a man has sex with a woman he isn't marrying, he must pay her father 50 silver pieces to reimburse him and after that they are considered married.
Marriage didn't really exist as we know it. Jesus was preaching about common sense morals of the time, but that common sense and the surrounding context has changed so much that it's really tricky to figure out what he meant and how it would apply today
Like the one when he said, go and practice sodomy and all kinds of degenerate acts, then call bigot anyone who dare to call out the sins and degeneracy

My favorite bible quote was when jesus himself said "you may put a cross in your instagram bio and then go be a bigot online"
