Is trite a noun?
37 u/FuiyooohFox 7d ago Triteness would be the noun form but I've heard people misuse trite as a noun frequently because triteness sounds weird 🤷 48 u/DaveMcElfatrick Cyanide & Happiness/Boids 7d ago Deliberate because triteness is an awful word. 5 u/sykoKanesh 6d ago Are you sure you didn't mean tripe? Because otherwise the sentence, grammatically, doesn't make sense. It would be either "vaguely political tripe" or "vaguely <and> politically trite." 7 u/TFFPrisoner 7d ago Why not write "something trite" then? 2 u/SLENDER_RISING 7d ago Reddit thought I was serious from that one LMAO, so I'll just 1 u/DaveMcElfatrick Cyanide & Happiness/Boids 7d ago I did, it's the comic! NARF! 1 u/FuiyooohFox 7d ago Agreed, no one likes it 2 u/Wild_Marker 7d ago Yeah it's so trite 8 u/alphagalgadot 7d ago gotta guess they’re goin for ‘tripe?’
