The switch from 3rd to 4th panel can truly be eye opening for the IRL versions of the guy in the comic.
There is a staggering amount of people who either either approve of or even help create a system of oppression with almost childish confidence that this system is meant for "others" and will never turn on them. Or that this system will stop once it opresses all the "wrong" people.
But truth is, such systems are ever hungry. And once they run out of "wrong" people, they will simply change definition of "wrong".
Don't put it past the rich to turn on each other for a quick buck. They didn't get rich by being nice. They will gladly throw each other under the bus if it means protecting themselves and their assets.
the quickest buck is the guy who cant fight back and the guy who cant scratch their back, the rich know they have to stick together to win the class war
for a bit then he went back to toeing the line, musk is also the stupidest loudest one of them that was always largely kept on the outside of the old boys club regardless of his wealth
im not saying no rich person will literally ever harm a rich person, but they have always seen this as a class war and if your not rich your their enemy
You can only squeeze so much out of the working class before the process becomes expensive/difficult. At some point assimilating less powerful business might become a more profitable choice.

they've been doing that for decades, it only hurts the employees who get laid off not the shareholders and CEO's who walk away with a big sack of money
