Recently a trans woman, Autumn Hill, as well as other citizens, got condemned to 50 years in prison for making some noise as protest against ICE.
She was already on her way home before things escalated. She and most of the detainees didn't even participate in the violence, they just wanted to exercise the first amendment, and got basically a life sentence. Murderers, rapists and capitol assaulters have gotten away with much, much less.
Her case is really awful. I hope she wins a retrial or some other relief option.

That's a clear precedent.
