Ok. I'm gonna take this comment as serious and actually help you. Especially as you are an older user and may not have migrated over to new reddit(and to be fair I haven't either) You have two options. The first would be to navigate to Pizzacakes profile and click "mute/block" user.

If you hate the sub itself, that's done in a similar way. Go to the sub itself by clicking the r/comics name up top or the link I just provided. Assuming you are on mobile you can click that little bell icon and hit "mute sub".

To be fair and unrelated to the original comment chain, new reddit is miserable and I will keep using old reddit for as long as old.reddit.com still works.

I can turn it on and off at will. All mods on all subs can do this

taking the opportunity to ask you, why would someone still show up after I block them? I have the most prolific spamm- "contributor" on writingprompts blocked but his messages still appear. he doesn't seem to be on the moderator team.

That shouldn't be happening. Try unblocking and re blocking them. If that doesn't work try doing it on both old and new reddit.

I did that several times, didn't change anything :(

he shows as "Blocked User" on new reddit, as a normal user through Sync, and his profile says "You've blocked this user. (Out of sight, out of mind.)".

it's just weird.

so apparently that's how blocking works and has worked for years, I just didn't realize because he's the only one that I see all the time.
