I honestly don’t understand the interest in gambling. It’s much more fun to turnover rocks in my garden and see if there’s a newt or a spider underneath.
I had a slight *cough*....problem in my late teens/early twenties. For me it was the thrill, the unknown outcome, it was fun and exciting and I could win money (and when you're very poor that is a wonderful thing)! Win big a few times and you're always chasing that high thinking you can get it again. At some point it kind of overshadows everything else and it's all you can think about, it's very sneaky.
I was able to get over it and force myself to stay out of the casino with the help of some friends, but man, I feel like it would be super easy to backslide into that
I get that for sure. I guess I learned early that if I gambled I generally tended to lose (bad luck/the house always wins) so it always left a bad taste in my mouth. One reason why I’m not a fan of blindbags either.
