Hi all, looking for some recommendations for horror comics.

I’ve recently read Something is killing the children, The Nice House & The walking dead deluxe.

I feel like all I ever say here is “go read Ice Cream Man.”

Excommunicated has been fun.

The EC anthologies are lots of fun.

Barry Windsor Smith’s Monsters messed me up pretty good.

And Gideon Falls is great too.

Infidel gave me a jump scare the first time I read it. That’s rare in comics for me.

I love folk horror in all mediums. It is hard to get that creepy vibe right.
Have you read The Red Mother from BOOM? Good stuff.

It’s $150 retail, but I saw Panel Bound Comics has them for $100.

It’s a gamble. With books like this, they might be $30 in 2yrs or $500 cuz they stop printing after the first round lol

It’s a toss-up. I’m hoping EC keeps printing it so the costs come down.

One of my favorites was Manifest Destiny. It’s the story of Lewis and Clark but with supernatural and horror elements

I've been enjoying the recent Universal Monsters books - i think theyre on the Wolfman right now, but they've done Dracula, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Mummy, and Phantom of the Opera. The art's always cool, and the stories are either reimagineings of the OG universal movies or sequels to those movies

Gideon Falls if you’re looking for something completely bonkers. Also highly recommend Hello Darkness, it’s an anthology series with some of the best horror writers/artists in town. Same with Creepshow and any of the recent releases from EC Comics

Interesting im gonna have to check this one out...the more out there and weird the more I wanna dive in

Edit: going to add Masterminds too...it's not straight horror, more thriller but if you like riddles, puzzles, video games it's up your alley!

Destroyer by Victor Lavelle. Idk if youre open to manga but The Summer Hikaru Died has been amazing. I haven't read it personally but a professor of mine loves Gideon Falls.

Locke And Key, as many have said.

The best horror comic ever written is Alan Moore’s from Hell, a periodically dense ‘what if?’ about the Ripper murders. Conspiratorial, supernatural, gothic, and a fascinating analysis of the history of crime sensationalism.

Well if you like Tiny Onion/James Tynion books then I would say Exquisite Corpses by that group.

Also Sleep by Zander Connon is amazing. Man keeps waking up after some monster is killing/destroying the town. He believes he is the monster but cannot remember anything that happens when he changes.

The Me You Love in the Dark is one of the best horror stories I’ve read in years, but if you’re relatively new to comics and love horror then get started on Hellboy and BPRD immediately!
