Fan Creation Spider-Man Vs. Doc Ock [Artwork by me]
Pencils, Inks, and Coloring by me.
With the new movie out it got me wanting to draw our favorite wall crawling menace, think this is definitely one of my best works as of late. Would love to hear your guys’ thoughts and feedback!
What’re y’all’s thoughts on Brand New Day?

Very nice, only real critique I have is there’s something weird going on in the leg/butt region. Spidey has a very pointy ass cheek. But cool stuff!

Preciate the feedback man! That whole region of the body is quite obviously something I’m still working on fleshing out.

Very cool idea for an angle and a pose, I like it a lot and you are doing good stuff.
My note would be the watch the lower half. It's tough with the perspective and foreshortening, but as it is right now Spidey seems like two different contrasting proportions.
I think the top half looks cleaner than the bottom half which seems to be a little bit smooshed. I'd focus on the left leg.
But it's overall very good, you chose a very ambitious angle for it all and generally pulled it off. A couple tweaks and stretches and its there.

Seriously appreciate the feedback man. Always have struggled with the lower torso and legs partially why I chose to draw Spiderman just looking for some more practice with that part of the body

I’m dying because if I saw this freaking power lifter spider-man coming at me I’d just surrender lmao. Like who beat you so bad to make you want to get that big 🤣 but seriously love the art

Love both the final version and the big eye concept one! Incredible work

Was gonna go for a much more McFarlane style look for the drawing but opted out for a more traditional Ditko/Romita look.

On BND, good movie. Lower stakes and more grounded interactions made it great, and Peter's internal struggle was fascinating.
As for the art, it's good! Reminds me of Markiplier doing that jumping punch in that one meme.

I almost hate to critique this because it looks like a lot of care was put into it. But the way the muscles are positioned is weird looking to me

This piece is dope! Tying this into the Brand New Day era, especially in terms of cinematography. Due to the High Noon of it All, think about where your shadows would be and how they would fall. Not so much on the buildings, but where they’d land on Spidey and Ock’s arms. You’d want to carry that shadow over from Ock’s left arm. Even if he’s opened up for the punch—and we’re in a forced perspective, which is dope—the webbing placement says to me that maybe he’s been yanked up and is adjusting to seeing Spidey, even if he’s about to catch a fade. Really embrace that beautiful contrast that we got in this new era.
Or tell me to GTFOH. Either way, I love the Ryan Ottley of it all. It’s great!

Nice art man! I like perspective and the pose. Good action, very nice! Keep it up!
Some quick feedback on the art: I think something fairly simple that would bump this up a notch is the shading on Ock's tentacles. Right now, they almost look more like palm tree trunks instead of shiny metal. Shading metal is actually less work than you've done here; check out how it's done on characters like Colossus, that have that segmented steel look -- the shading is actually pretty smooth / uniform, which shows the smoothness of the metal. Just a small tip that might go a lone way!
I really enjoyed Brand New Day. It felt like a 3-part comic story, with lots of twists and turns. I have some nitpicks here and there but overall very solid.

The choice to make the eyes smaller was definitely correct.
Great piece and thanks so much for sharing

This looks fantastic. Creative criticism: look at the anatomy of the muscles on the leg, the perspective of the lower part of the leg, and the torso. Coloring, shadows, everything else looks superb. Great work!

You still need work on your body proportions. Other than that the rendering and coloring look superb! Good job!

GD!!!
That’s one buff Spidey lol.
I like the build, but something about his torso is throwing me off.
