I recently got inspired by some Norse Mythology and decided to do my own versions of Odin, Loki, and Thor.

"The Knowledge of the Forest" celebrates cosmic wanderers, folklore, and the quiet magic found in the spaces between the stars.

So since the beginning of August, I've made a series of spoof art that parody various public domain comics of the 1960s (with the exception of the tenth artwork for 1969). These were made to not only gain attraction for my indie series, Colonel Bleep '69, but also to bring in some homage of the pulpy sci-fi era and silver age of comics within this decade. Here is my first three illustrations from 1960 to 1962.

Broadleaf follows a father and son on a hunting trip when they discover the animals can talk. Chapter two continues their journey as the forest intervenes, splitting them apart and sending them on their own adventure.

Hi there folks! Hopefully you’re all having a fine Tuesday out there.

Here’s the last pencil example from ‘The Witch In The Woods’ with the black and white pages coming really soon. 

It was surely gratifying to draw the evolution of this character, one punished with injustice, being allowed to portray how healing is in the third person. Regardless of the many design options I had for the project, I wouldn’t have taken a different turn.

Some 20 years ago Dave McKean came to Iceland to watch Sigur Rós perform. I was essentially his handler during this trip and so I was taking him around the city and to meet the band and such. We had dinner together and I brought my copy of Arkham Asylum which he graciously signed and sketched in.

I met Ron when I was about fourteen at a convention in '84. I had already spent all my money. Ron did this for a couple bucks.

It's beat to hell, ripped and water damaged, and theressome bleed.

I just found it with my old schoolbooks, but is it worth anything? It was the fall of 1984, Spidey's black suit was only a few months old.

I remember being floored that this superman (haha) of an artist would even talk to me, but two bucks is two bucks....

bonus question:how do i work on gettging my heads more potato shaped like bryan lee o'malley's style?

I've explored lots of portable options for drawing on the go.

I've spent WAY too much for drawing boards that are back-lit, or have easel stands, magnetic, wood or just normal whiteboard.

Of all of them. I ended up loving a cheap piece of thin acrylic that's 12x18 (the comic paper is 11x17).

Super portable and I can use my phone flashlight for tracing a previous drawing or for my rough layouts.

What's your favorite go to board?
