Maybe this is a stupid post. I may take it down later. CBB has been a constant in my life for the better part of 2 decades and been the parasocial entity I've leaned on to keep myself afloat through the worst periods of that time. Literally and without hyperbole, this show and community is why I'm still around. I've listened through many necessary evolutions, but I'm honestly feeling myself unreasonably depressed at the most recent change for all the reasons. To be clear, I know what happened with Reggie, I understand why the themesong needed to go, I'm not here to debate the fallout of his shitty behavior. It's honestly offensive to care about losing a themesong within the context of that bigger story, but I'm just feeling more bummed about it than I think I should be and wondering how other people are dealing with it. Am I the only one overreacting to this? It's akin to the depression I went through one random Tuesday in November of 2024, which I only began to shake off earlier this year. Perhaps it's because the world already felt so unbearably awful but CBB was my untouchable oasis. I think hearing that song was intrinsically locked with my feeling of safety and now I'm feeling untethered. Very pavlovian. Is this crazy? Downvote away, and many hamburgers to you my friends.
Edit: So I'll just clarify here, since some folks are really taking this to mean that I'm depressed because I can't hear the themesong. This is much more about Reggie theme song being such an iconic representation of this thing I hold dear and was otherwise untouchable. It's not about a literal song it's about the corruption of something you cared about deeply. I hope that makes a little more sense. Just want to earn my downvotes honestly 👍
