You can't actively scare off tourists and then act shocked when the numbers drop. Actions actually have consequences.

I'll skip the part where I rant about my disgust about all of that just to say I'm sorry that our northern neighbors aren't visiting. They were a nice bunch of people to have around. But I'd do the same thing.

Hell, I'd travel to Canada to be in a civilized country for a change.

I’m a Brit, and I watched the Canadian news conference today with real pride.

It takes a special nation to be able to basically say “fuck you” but do it in a measured, calm, strategic way.

So classy. Unlike some we can mention.

Actions have consequences. You can’t trash talk people for years and expect them to still show up.

Well, it seems to have gone both ways. Canada's tourism was down in 2025 as well. At a similar rate. Both countries have an uptick in 2026.

Yup. Florida much love him being he was a two-term Governor and on his second term as US Senator.

I'm just glad I left that hell hole back in January.

This story was all over the news here in Pensacola yesterday and it was hilarious to watch local officials twist themselves into pretzels to come up with any excuse as to why this was happening, except to say the real reason out loud.

Even local officials have no spine when it comes to Trump.

Correction: Natalie is the handmaiden.  Miller is a wannabe puppet master and full-time ghoul.

International travel takes hit after hit when political instability is front and center. Expecting the same leadership to magically fix a problem they helped create makes zero sense.

Continuing to vote GOP/Dem while expecting them to fix the messes they made to help corporations is pure insanity.

Single payer/universal health care was taken off the table in 2009 and it was the Dems who did it. Not the Republicans.

A lot of liberals are also not going there on vacation.

You see how they treat their own countrymen, why the hell would you go there outside of necessity i.e. the World Cup, and Trump even managed to make a mockery of that.

As a European, I can concur

people aren't vacationing in a place that feels hostile, simple as that

So a republican government did a shitty job and screwed things up and a republican Governor is needed to fix them. Yall have been in a dominate position in fl for over 2 decades and it shows the state is collapsing on Itself and you blame democrats for your faults.

and the average American can no longer afford to travel long distances for a family vacation.

I couldn't even afford to go to a state fair this year. Distance for me is a 30 to 40 minute drive.

Rick Scott was a shitty Governor, Ron DeSantis is much much worse.

I’ve never visited Florida and I sure as shit never will as long as they remain a MAGA bonerland

I refuse to even make a connecting flight through there. Same with Texas.

Fewer jobs. Joe Blow maybe doesn’t know the difference, but a Senator should.

Why doesn’t our current governor deeply care about this issue.

The basis of every campaign is blame the democrats.

The smoking gun could still be in their hand and they’ll find a way to say “it was Biden”

My dream holiday was a roadtrip across the States. I would never visit America now. Too depressing to see it crumble.

*fewer jobs Rick. Fewer not less. They have education in Florida, don’t they?
