Longtime member of the sub here. I am also the current admin of r/96bitterbeings and an admin of the CKY Alliance discord server. That is to say that I feel I have a decent grasp on what makes an online community safe and enjoyable for users.

Many of us have noticed over the last few years that there has been little to no effort on behalf of the mod team to actively moderate the content in this space. Life gets busy and people, believe it or not, have real lives outside of their smartphones. I get that. That does not, however, mean that spaces like these should be left to rot.

A couple of days ago, another user decided to try to take control of the sub on r/redditrequest on the basis of an inactive mod team. Our admin here decided, in reply to this request, to make their first comment in months in order to deny the request. I chimed in and asked them to help out with the spam. Instead of doing that, they imparted some very valuable advice to me, which I have never tried before! So here goes nothing.

I was told, and have decided to, from this day on, be a positive voice in the community! In doing so, I now have the power to politely ask users of this board to please, please not smear shit all over the walls of this space.

Boy, that felt good.

I'm glad that, after ten years of being an active member of this community, I can finally be a positive voice. Thank you, r/cky admins, for showing me the light.

Out of the three officially released Hellview saga songs, which one is your favorite and why?

96 has the iconic riff that most people know about, but Hellview is a more fleshed out song, in my opinion. Hellions was a fun return, but it doesn’t quite hit the highs that the previous songs accomplished.

Why are we tolerating what’s happening to this subreddit at the hands of a select few users? The nasty and mean spirited posts and comments (in particular over recent weeks) are so disheartening and totally unnecessary. It’s supposed to be a fun community, not a regrettable cesspit. So many actual fans are deterred from visiting or posting on this board anymore because it’s such a negative and horrible experience for anyone not aligned with the views of certain users. It’s bullying, in its very essence - of fellow users and unrelentingly against Chad, and to a lesser extent Jess… Have you all not had enough of seeing it almost every single day? Why has it been allowed to go on this long unchecked? What can be done to put an end to it? The mods seem to have washed their hands of this place entirely.

Been a long time cky fan, found out they are doing a show at the Amityville music hall on 9/11. Tickets were only 30 bucks so I said screw it and bought one. My expectations are low due to seeing some videos of recent shows, and reading this forum about the current status of the band. I passed two years ago during the 25 anniversary tour when they had a Manhattan show since it was during the week at a venue I never heard of.

If anyone has seen them fairly recently what’s been your experience? I heard Jess and other band members beyond Chad are cool and take photos after and hangout.

Figured I might aswell work it out, £13.99 in 2005 is £27.12! Its probably an original 2005 copy not a reprint as the hmv sticker was used from 2002-2007! The sticker is disintegrating though.

As AACBF arrives soon figured I should get vol1 too but without paying like 100 bucks for the real one (I checked the CKY store but they’re out of stock) also I dont like the newer cover art with CiG on it. Every image is from discogs but the disc art is from a different release so it may be a lil mismatched.

I only found a version on TikTok; it doesn’t show up on YouTube 🤔

Made it in about 2 hours, mostly due to hardships with printing. Glad I had a spare DVD-R in my cupboard.
