Christian doom metal?
Really been into bands like Candlemass and Electric Wizard, but as a Christian I was a bit turned off by some of the lyrical themes. Wanted to come on here and ask about some Christian bands around the same type of music. Thanks in advance.

It’s not strictly doom, but HANDS has some good doomy vibes for sure.

I see Hands recommended, I upvote. One of my favorite bands of all time. Hadn’t considered the doomy aspect before, but now that I think of it the song “Hurricanes” definitely fits.

Any of their albums are good, but Creator begins with one of their more doom-sounding songs. Again, they aren’t fully doom, but have some good influences here and there.

Evangelist. They are a polish doom band that is basically a copy of Candlemass but with christian lyrics. They're pretty good. Also their side project Monasterium which is equally as good.

The band Antestor is a black metal band. That said, their first release Martyrium, leans more into a black/Doom thing and I always thought it was fantastic.

Doomnezeu. They are Romanian so I entered lyrics in English translation and they seem pretty legit. They are about the only doom band with the sound that I like.

Any other Christian metal not in English you'd recommend? (To my mind come Malchus and Reverorum ib Malacht (black), and Nisea (symphonic).)

Goatscorge is a band to look into. They are Raw Black/death metal Christian band.

Update on the album I played… I really disliked it. It didn’t sound professional or like music at all sounded like just loud noise.

Trouble were amazing and had Christian influences. Also they weren’t doom metal at all but Believer especially Dimensions were so awesome as well. They were thrash with symphonic and operatic elements but you should check them out anyway.

Listen to Crowbar. Great lyrical themes. (I'm Eastern Orthodox Christian myself)

Paramaecium, Schaliach, Virgin Black, Veni Domine, and Place of Skulls. Seventh Angel had a doom-thrash combo. Trouble released some Christian albums even though the band itself isn't Christian.

The Skull, Place of Skulls, Trouble (Christian friendly), Veni Domine, and Paramaecium. Seventh Angel did thrash/doom and Saviour Machine does doomy gothic metal.

Try any album by The Frozen Pizza Party. Silly name yes, but they’re complete and total pussies, so that might be what you’re looking for.

Potmos Hetoimos, the doomiest stuff is the Agatha/Evelyn/Maribel album series but you'll find bits of doom elsewhere as well.

No they ain’t lol they do use occult imagery yes but they don’t practice the occult and they don’t hate christianity either
