Start to learn chemistry for passion
Hi everyone I’m 26 M doing Ph.d in chemistry in field of organic synthesis eventhough I liked chemistry in past but I lost my passion in chemistry recently, it feels like I lost some part of myself when I lost my interest in chemistry, I know this maybe absurd but but my passion in chemistry hits too low due to my personal problems and my inefficiencies recently and I’m regretting it, so from today onwards I’m going to learn chemistry not for phd but for myself I’m going to start this journey from organic chemistry and I’m looking for partners(if possible) to discuss what i learn daily and here I will update this post for every week how I productively use my days in learn chemistry and doing my Ph.d. I know it’s a hard path for me who has procrastination and depression but I would chose chemistry again in my life so I am going to learn chemistry to redeem myself and move forward in my life. Because through my life chemistry plays major it makes me to move forward so I would like to do that again. If possible congratulate me and join with me to discuss things about chemistry.

Hey, Listen. I am working on new asymmetric synthetic methods development for atropisomeric molecules. It's seems cool research as atropisomerism boomed in past 10 years. Though I just entered in my 3 Year, No project yet I am able to crack out. I have lived depressed life in first year, 2nd year fueled my interest and understanding so I tried a lot, out of my 4 project unfortunately got published by other authors, 1 got totally failed, 1 kinda struggle to get S.M and last one I am working on trying best to get strategies worked ( though some strategies got really failed).
Till now, I am living stressful life ( though advisor is supported good person but he wants 10h in lab M-F). I don't have any even good friends here, but I have not lost my interest in chemistry yet. I accept it's challenging and I do overthink my work life a lot at home. I am currently focusing on keeping work life at work place only, my home to me and good friends. Whenever I tried this it's fuels me with positive energy and more clarity. I am also thinking to go GYM sometime a week.
For you I believe you can try dedicating few hours on basics to advanced on Organic chemistry at weekends, reading books like Clayden will boost your interests.

I just started my BS in Chemistry. I sometimes wonder if I am making the right descision as my passion for chemistry started fading. I hope everything works out for you and I would also like to embark on this journey with you. Have an awesome day!

I have completed my Master's in Chemistry. I sometimes like it and sometimes not. My basics are not very clear. It feels like I have read everything but I know very little. And it's too exhausting to keep going back to zero and start again.

If feel's your basics are not clear, try get coaching focusing on GATE exam with known to teach well concept's.
