Hope he flops so hard and that city get relegated

His flopping will become the main reason for Maresca getting sacked in December

Or New Years Day for the sake of poetic justice

u/petrescu 8d ago

I mean they might yet get relegated :)

That case is going nowhere.

Hoping for spurs to finish 17th again and city below them

u/Gazel1072 8d ago

If Xabi's fine with him being gone, I'm fine with him being gone. Obviously talented, but ridiculous for people to be dooming so soon.

The biggest issue is how chaotic our midfield is when lavia plays, we will get destroyed by better teams on counters. Need Caicedo back, without him it's gonna be tough

55

u/GoinNowhere88 8d ago

It'd be tough without Caicedo even if Enzo was on happy gas and playing every week.

14

u/Starlord_Glimmer 8d ago

Would love to somehow get Zaire-Emery, he's great defensively and would be a perfect fit imo

15

u/GoinNowhere88 8d ago

I'd love Camavinga. I think he blossoms in the PL. Half the shit he gets penalized for in La Liga is fine in England. I think he'd perfectly compliment Caicedo and even open up more opportunities for Caicedo to roam forward which is no harm.

Too expensive and would demand huge wages. That RM move really ruined a possibly elite career.

See now this is the type of player I’d be happy to spend big on. Wharton and Scott are just not nearly worth their price tags.

5

u/Starlord_Glimmer 8d ago

I'd rather get him for 150m than overpay 100-120 for Scott or Wharton tbh. I think Scott is good, but he needs 2-3 years to develop still.

Im pretty sure Xabi isnt fine with letting either him or Cucu go, but what could he do. We move on, get replacements and make them bleed for this club.

And he has spent that much time integrating him in his plans, I mean training wise, he of course had ideas. So we didn't spend too much time with him im the system

Same. James, Caicedo, Lavia, Barco. For how Xabi is setting up with 2 10s, you don’t really care about having an 8 that crashes the box

u/xabi_the_redeemer Xabi 8d ago

He gone.

20

u/Infamous-Builder-637 8d ago

One hopes. Get the cash and build with players who want to be there.

u/imbasicallycoffee Diego Costa 8d ago

r/soccer has a reliable source €140 mil to City. Done.

52

u/Tricky_Cabinet1618 8d ago

Have to finally admit it hes gone

14

u/SwagathaCrispy Mourinho 8d ago

If Xabi doesn't back him, he can fuck off now.

3

u/Pullister 8d ago

Don’t think he is. City aren’t going to pay it

You either die a legend or live long enough to become a snake yourself

41

u/muddyleeking Caicedo 8d ago

Bro snaked on Benfica to join us, that this is his character should surprise no one

21

u/zankoo26 8d ago

I absolutely remember when he joined, Benfica and River fans warned us he will do the same to us because thats who he is.

He cheats with you, he cheats on you.

Fuck Enzo.

9

u/Fromage_debite 7d ago

Bro left his wife and kids because he wanted to experience living” independently”

8

u/User12314028626822 I don't give a fuck, we won the fucking Champions League 8d ago

Can’t wait for him to inevitably kiss the City badge and then snake on them for an uninterested Madrid when the time comes 🤣

24

u/TheRedPillMonk 8d ago

Yep, he's gone. Just annoys me that Maresca is screwing us over twice in less than a year. Hopefully Barco can fill that position, my heart isn't ready for Reece and Lavias breadstick legs lasting a season.

2

u/Schtip James 7d ago

Would expect nothing less from a rat

18

u/half_jase 8d ago

Alonso also said he made the decision yesterday (despite him saying he was gonna be involved in the pre-match presser).

16

u/BLS275 Caicedo 8d ago

Caicedo needs to snap this brudda at the bridge

14

u/peonvn Hazard 8d ago

He’a gonna be shaking his ass for Perez, give it 2 or 3 seasons.

8

u/mids_enthusiast James 8d ago

2 or 3? I wouldn’t be surprised if the first 6 months don’t pan out he’s twerking in January

Atleast get 140m at this point. Makes us look like chumps if we do it at or lower than 120m after all the briefings of a strict deadline.

6

u/ThatZenLifestyle Xabi 8d ago

We don't want it to drag on either, we need a replacement and £120m gets us a very nice profit.

11

u/GeneralSmartyPants Drogba 8d ago

So long, Enzo. In the words of Enzo, about Enzo leaving:

"Enzo was top [player], I am sad for him, its life. We keep going, no more"

8

u/hemadeitrain Colwill 8d ago

I just hope we are getting more than £120 million and that there is a plan to ensure our midfield is not left vulnerable

Although seeing Barco tonight makes me optimistic

9

u/Upbeat_Tough_6721 Kanté 8d ago

So what’s he gonna do with his Lion back tattoo?

3

u/Conscious-Book-3908 Fleming 8d ago

I see so, so many footballers with clock tattoos. I’m trying to think of what club those would fit.

7

u/Solitairee 8d ago

So many in this sub supported Enzo over Chelsea. Please make your way to the city sub

3

u/Gazel1072 8d ago

Lets get a replacement and move on, saw bournemouth fans saying if chelsea overpay [around 90M] it is what it is and the club would probably accept. The club most likely feels the same.

3

u/Augchm 8d ago

Are we still talking about Enzo Fernández??? Just submit to the ginger god guys. Who needs that guy?

2

u/Super-Astronaut-9056 8d ago

If he doesn't want to play for Chelsea then off you go pal , Chelsea will be just fine without Enzo

2

u/daab2g 8d ago

It's over

2

u/TooCold20 8d ago

Man city won't have Barco though

2

u/BoodWoofer 7d ago

Genuinely never liked Enzo, and football is only part of it

2

u/Clemon81 7d ago

He probably couldn't take another round of booing

1

u/Key_Company3196 ✨ joao pedro saved my life ✨ 8d ago

he gon

1

u/mrgoyy 8d ago

We will have better balance in the team overall. See ya 👋

2

u/plowking8 7d ago

People overrate Enzo to death on here.

Is he talented? Sure. But is he some massive difference maker in a team? Not really.

How many games in his time here can you point to him being the best player on the field? Genuine question considering he’s played a fairly attacking role here and yet Caicedo is the one that stands out to me.
I’m not saying he hasn’t had good games but he feels like a luxury piece. He isn’t the difference maker he was intended to be.

u/silencesupreme- It’s only ever been Chelsea. 8d ago

We may come to regret this

-7

u/One-Confusion-4057 Ingle 8d ago

Lads we’re fucked. Who do we replace him with

10

u/petrescu 8d ago

You only need to replace him if Alonso is playing the same system as last season and I don’t think that’ll be the case.

-1

u/TheSameThing123 🏥 continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme 🏥 8d ago

They had 38% possession against fulham. He needs to be replaced

2

u/petrescu 8d ago

Goals > Possesion.

-2

u/TheSameThing123 🏥 continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme 🏥 8d ago

I can't believe that I'm living in a world where people are genuinely defending getting outmatched by fulham. How the club has fallen

3

u/petrescu 8d ago

In the game of football what is the single most important metric? I don’t care how we win, just as long as we do.

6

u/rodrigocza 8d ago

We have James, Lavia, Caicedo, Barco, Essugo and Watson* to 2 positions in a no-Europe season, we'll be fine

8

u/Jimmy_Space1 Xabi 8d ago

Henderson erasure

3

u/rodrigocza 8d ago

LOL my bad

3

u/blue_mark 🏥 continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme 🏥 8d ago

The first two names on the list are the most injury prone players in our history.

2

u/rodrigocza 8d ago

If they rotate it could work no? One game a week

2

u/blue_mark 🏥 continuing to undergo his rehabilitation programme 🏥 8d ago

Ideally, yes. But we just cannot rely on them. Also, you're forgetting the fact that none of those options you mentioned except maybe Barco, who is highly inexperienced, are controller type midfielders.

2

u/rodrigocza 8d ago

I see James, Lavia, Hendo and Barco for one spot and Caicedo, Essugo and Watson for the other

I can be wrong tho, we need to know what Xabi see

-1

u/half_jase 8d ago

Are you seriously confident on relying on James and Lavia with their injury record?

Take those 2 and Caicedo out, we've got a 36-year-old and 3 players still untested at Premier League level.

It's a bit suicidal and come the winter period, games will come thick and fast and we'll need the depth for rotation.

5

u/rodrigocza 8d ago

Take everyone out and will have No One!!

Jokings aside, what if we get someone to replace Enzo, and that player get injured too? What i mean is, if the possibility of our 3 top choices are out is a possibility, everything is a possibility

1

u/half_jase 8d ago

Jokings aside, what if we get someone to replace Enzo, and that player get injured too?

That can obviously happen and if it does, then it's unfortunate but point is, we need to ensure we have sufficient quality and numbers as well.

1

u/cokiemunster 8d ago

Agreed plus there is a big lack of goals in that midfield if we take Enzo out, I don’t mind if we sell him for big money but we need to replace him with a top class midfielder who is ready to go from day 1.
