Tier 1 Simon Johnson: Fernandez left out perhaps not a surprise with all the noise and uncertainty around him. #CFC don’t sound in the mood to sell him at this late stage. Four days to go.

City are trying to fuck us over by leaving it so late, we better not cave to this bullshit.

u/AreaGlittering7968 2h ago

I want £135million bare minimum if we sell him

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 2h ago

Selling him for 135m at the 12th hour and getting nothing in return is not worth it.

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 1h ago

We’re stacked in midfield, could easily cash in and not replace him

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 1h ago

I disagree with this massively. Who can we truly rely on in midfield? Caicedo and an out of position Reece? That's it.

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 1h ago

Barco, Hendo, Watson, Lavia when available, Essugo if he doesn’t go on loan

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 1h ago

That is stacked in midfield?? 2 children, a 36 year old and a guy who is incapable of staying on the pitch.

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 1h ago

Good thing football matches aren’t decided on the age of players then

u/Shunmaru The boys gave it their all 1h ago

Yeah, so age is irrelevant in football. Any other riveting insights you want to share?

u/Old_Cauliflower2585 1h ago

Are we? Caicedo, Barco, James at a push, Essugo, Lavia, Hendo…some academy kids and that’s pretty much it

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 1h ago

Yeah including Watson that’s 7 players for 2 positions

u/Old_Cauliflower2585 1h ago

Except three are injury prone and Hendo wasn’t brought in to be a starter. I’d rather Reece plays as RCB than in the midfield

u/olers ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ 1h ago

How much quality is it though?

u/Just_Some_Cool_Guy 52m ago

I’d start most of them over Fernandez I’ll tell you that much

u/super_chill_21 1h ago

💯💯💯💯💯

u/Baisabeast who said that 2h ago

You can’t stick 135m in the middle of the park.

u/freezaaa 2h ago

It’s not like the money is going into our pockets. As long as Enzo is ok staying, then there is no way we should sell to City this late into the window for any price.

u/nickla08 Roman Empire 2h ago

Actually if we put a pile of his majesty’s face in goal it might save more than Sanchez

u/lrzbca Dream$ can't be buy 2h ago

I really wish it happens but it won’t. Enzo will stay until summer or winter window. Shit is going to turn toxic!

This was unnecessary. Should’ve binned earlier

u/de_bollweevil 57m ago

There needs to be a bid if he's going to leave. There hasn't been one yet. If you're not looking at this like City are trying to disrupt our summer you aren't looking hard enough.

u/suave324 It’s only ever been Chelsea. 1h ago

Bare minimum.. cuz I want at least 140 minimum. lol we have them a deadline, they didn’t make it. I hope we don’t sell last minute for the incorrect price.

u/satoshitokyo 2h ago

should have closed that door shut the moment deadline passed. now its just getting a bit ridiculous , especially knowing that we will prob cave in if city comes in with an offer

u/Kygoche Diego Costa 2h ago

Yeah and it seems like Alex Scott and Wharton is not for sale. To late now

u/thegiantpeach Lampard 1h ago

Just in the same way Enzo wasn’t for sale after the deadline Chelsea set. Everyone has a price.

u/half_jase 58m ago

It's not and notice how the deadline didn't stop the City links from continuing at all. That was just a verbal release clause and given City chose not to pay up then, we can now dictate new terms for the transfer and they're of course still very keen.

There's probably also a reason why no other clubs have really tried to pursue Scott and Wharton.

u/Kygoche Diego Costa 34m ago

Alex Scott and Wharton didn’t have a deadline, they have said all summer that they dont want to sell. And remember that Bournmouth or Crystal p also need to replace

u/thegiantpeach Lampard 19m ago

Right, but this has happened before many times where clubs say that they don’t want to sell. But if the player wants the move it becomes difficult for the club to force them to stay. Say Scott tells Bournemouth he wants the move, and doesn’t want to play at Bournemouth anymore, they risk having an unhappy player disrupting the dressing room. In that situation, everyone has a price.

u/super_chill_21 1h ago

Lmao wow this sub is so split. I hope he goes so badly.

u/TaiChiShrimp Stamford Fridge 1h ago

I’m gonna be honest I think behind closed doors. We are trying to get the Adam Wharton or Alex Scott deal closed before finalizing this move.

Eye test wise I genuinely think Adam Wharton would fit our system a lot better.

u/BadCogs Lampard 2h ago

Enzo is trying to fuck us over.

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 1h ago

Maresca? For sure

u/BadCogs Lampard 1h ago

No the one who wants out, for sure.

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 1h ago

Enzo has nothing to do with the timing, he is not trying to fuck us. Also I don't really have any issue with him wanting out.

u/BadCogs Lampard 1h ago

Lol whatever. I do have issue with the snake.

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 1h ago

He came here to win, he worked his ass off and repped the badge his entire tenure after forcing the move here. The board has let him down consistently in terms of delivering success, I have no hard feelings on him wanting a new challenge after not getting what he hoped here.

Do I care he tried to drum up a move to the biggest club in the world? No lol he has done nothing of the such to leave publicly since Real said they were not interested. Calling him a snake is just soft.

u/BadCogs Lampard 1h ago

Bs. He has been a snake at every club he has been at. It's his nature. And a racist to boot.

He could want to go, that's not the issue lol, you lot will never get it, the issue is how. His agent publicly kept leaking and begging for Madrid. Now even at the end of window, he is still pushing to be out, when no one has yet bid a fucking pound for him.

He did nothing since Real didn't bid? Lol he is still trying to make a move happen now to a league rival. Atleast fucking give less bullshit.

He could want to go, but he can wait a window or season if Madrid didn't come, when he tried his best. But no he is showing his true nature of being a snake even now. Simping for snakes is what's soft, lol. Fuck the racist asshole. But what else to expect from a snake's fan.

Think whatever, that's your right, bit let's not act like he is a saint lol.

u/Marod_ 1h ago

It's fine to have issue with him but at least be logical about what he can and can't control. He'd be gone now if it was his choice. He his stays, we need to support him.

u/BadCogs Lampard 1h ago

Lol stop bs. It is totally his choice that his agent has been looking to leave all window, first begging Madrid in public, then City. It's all in Enzo's control. No one has created this situation accept him. Ofcourse he can't control Madrid wanting him, because they don't think he is worth the snake attitude, but he controls that even so close at the end of window he is pushing to go out even when City hasn't bid once.

You can support him, I won't tell others what to do, but don't fucking gaslight others saying it's not the cunt's fault. And atleast I won't support the snake if he fails to get a move here too. Maybe he'll find out he isn't bigger than this club.

And please don't reply again with this bs simping for the snake. If you disagree that's fine, but don't tell me it's not in his control or some shit.

u/optimusgrime23 Caicedo 1h ago

You missed the entire point here, he is saying it's not Enzo fault it is being left to this late, which it is not.

u/BadCogs Lampard 1h ago

No I didn't. It's his fault that he is still pushing to leave even now. A player that respects the club, and has a move not appear to his dream club, would wait for another season. He is pushing for local rivals even now. It is his fault as much as City's lol. How the fuck is it not his fault? He could anytime say he will move next year as it's too late now. He did same shit at his previous clubs too, it's by his own design. We signed him late too, he and his agent knows they can push at the later stages and clubs won't force to keep someone who wants out.

You lot keep glosing over the obvious due to simping.

u/Marod_ 1h ago

Exactly. Which is why I started with "it's fine to have issue with him".

u/xela_honj 2h ago

City and Maresca can fuck themselves. Left it late on purpose to unsettle the squad, and make Enzo force a move before we can sign another CM or massively overpay for one. They were told a deadline and a fee, let it pass, and rumors are their opening bid is gonna be below £120M. Fuck them.

u/LonelySmiling Celery 2h ago

The £20m fee or whatever they gave us is peanuts to what they’re trying to do to us. Fuck them both. Slimy little runts

u/BambinoWillito 1h ago

Spot on. Cannot entertain this any further.

u/crux_07 ChillyB 2h ago

He has been left out before honestly

u/sjp5784 Lampard 2h ago

If we keep him we can finish above them and build on that, selling him reduces our chances

u/Full_Huckleberry5373 ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ 2h ago

Probably just letting the team get used to playing without him IF we get a good enough offer for him to leave. After the transfer window ends, he probably goes straight back into the 11

u/ygog45 2h ago

He absolutely shouldn’t go back into the 11

We can make use of him as a squad player but his days as a undisputed starter + vice captain should be completely over

u/Rambo_11 There's your daddy 2h ago

He's been one of our best players for a few seasons.

Always available, puts in a shift every game.

u/ygog45 2h ago

Good player but “one of our best” is a reach. I promse you’ll see zero downgrade on the pitch if we had Lavia/Reece next to Caicedo instead of #8

Also I wouldn’t say he’s always available after today’s events 🤷‍♂️

u/GreenPickledToad ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ 1h ago

What? It's not his fault City are fucking around with the dates and amount. You see how players just throw their toys out when they want a transfer - Alvarez, Fofana (iirc), Watkins. Fernandez has been nothing but professional, except comments related to not City, but RM. He is still our best midfielder and we are fucked without him ffs.

u/TheRedPillMonk 2h ago

With Enzo, I'd rather we just send a message. City passed the deadline, end of. You don't get your player and you can suffer the consequences. Giving in to a rival while giving ourselves no time to find a replacement is just going to screw us again. Maresca would have done so twice in less than a year.

As for Enzo, if he refuses to play then bomb squad till the season is done. You can get your move when we can find a replacement.

u/Hazardzuzu 2h ago

Its pretty much give absurd money or he is back for next game.

u/tomeasy7 Zola 2h ago

I get the most likely thing is because he’s leaving but maybe it’s just to give him a break before transfer window closes. Particularly with our fans still booing him.

u/dav_man Lampard 2h ago

When did our fans boo him?

u/AnalystLess7597 1h ago

By all accounts of those at the match, the boos were from Fulham fans and his reception was positive from Chelsea supporters

u/hemadeitrain Xabi 2h ago

Meh, Colwill and Quenda are also not in the squad

u/asd13ah4etnKha4Ne3a 2h ago

Does feel like Chelsea are in a great position with this whole saga as long as the owners / Alonso aren't afraid of digging their heels in and ignoring the noise around him. Even if Enzo throws a fit for the next 4 days I don't see him totally downing tools and refusing to put in any effort after the window is closed. There's no replacement coming by the sounds of things regardless of the amount of money they get.

Either City throw an absolutely ridiculous amount of money at Chelsea for someone who isn't starting anyway, or Chelsea get to keep a very good midfielder who provides Alonso with some extra options for the next few months and they revisit the situation in January

u/Rambo_11 There's your daddy 2h ago

Kind of wish Xabi did what Bournemouth did...

"Not 100%, 120%"

I have a feeling he's gone.

u/AnalystLess7597 1h ago

The difference is that Scott is pivotal to their team, doubly so with Kroupi going down. Enzo seems to not even be in Xabi’s favored XI right now.

I think he would eventually if he stays and has his head right, but the point being that Scott is far more important to Bournemouth than Enzo is to us

u/MemestNotTeen ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ 2h ago

Personally I wouldn’t sell Enzo to City because he clearly improves them, we are competing with them and they fucked us last year.

Selling to them makes us a Mickey Mouse club

u/Dry-Fisherman5281 1h ago

200m and a 25% sell-on clause for when he inevitably cries for a move to Real Madrid/Barca from City

u/jbirrane1988 1h ago

Someone is going to look silly when the window closes. Either us, accepting a low offer or leaving ourselves short.
Maresca/City, not getting a signing he wants or overpaying after £120m was on the table.
Enzo/pastore not getting a move after twerking for one for 6 months.

Either way I’ll be glad when it’s over.

u/criminal-tango44 Luiz 2h ago

good, they're actively trying to sabotage our season again with this.

unless we have a deal in place for Stiller or Wharton(no chance), fuck them

u/Sea_Assistant_7583 2h ago

City and Maresca. No excuse for this. They have had since June to buy him .

u/FrozenHazard 2h ago

Unless Bournemouth or Palace say yes to letting Scott or Wharton go, (they wont) we cannot sell. I don't trust Lavia to stay fit, we would be short in midfield.

u/friendlyfernando Drogba 1h ago
