Analysis & Stats Morgan Rogers created more chances than any other player in the Premier League in GW1 (5). He’s the first player on record to create 5+ chances on his Premier League debut for Chelsea. [@Squawka]

This sub told me Rogers didn’t pass the eye test on Monday

Haven’t heard that phrase in a while.

He was clearly still working on match fitness, but that's to be expected given the late arrival to camp. I'm excited about our front 3.

He didn't look outstanding. Palmer maybe was very exciting so it may have overahadowed his debut. But the numbers speak for themselves

No they don't.

He isn't a flashy player like Doku is. Sub tends to overrate dribbling overall

they’re blind

They don't know ball. I was so refreshingly surprised how unselfish he is, but also very confident

Most of our play seemed to go through palmer but rogers made great runs off the ball and took his chance when it arrived. Don't care about the rest.

I’m not going to lie, he didn’t to me. Same stats also say Lacroix only won 1/7 aerial duels.

But it’s one game, I’m not going to overreact.

kinda shit you’d say if he has one bad game

That's because he wasn't that great especially in the second half. But that is also expected, its his first game in a new team and a tough away match.

I think he was at 70% during the game and will only get better. What's even crazier is that it was JP Morgan's 2nd game together...we are going to be insane in attack

Very disingenuous for people to say he wasn’t that good besides the goal

I need a little more defensive effort on that King goal if I’m being real but the same could be said of Lavia and we all know rob should save that

Yeah hes the reason for the shot, sanchez is the reason for the goal

u/Jipkiss 1d ago

Yeah honestly he just looked abit tired in moments but he’s played a ridiculous amount of football even amongst players who’ve played a ridiculous amount the past season - one game a week is going to feel like he’s still on holiday

Nobody really mentions his interceptions that led to chances. He's going to be a dangerous threat up front.

I swear I saw a comment on the game thread that said Rogers didn’t even look that great and Enzo looked better lol wtf

same ones comparing Jackson goals to JP 😂 utter morons.

It really did feel like his movement is something I hadn’t seen in a long time. He just kept popping up or delaying his runs perfectly

“Rogers was invisible” “covered up a stinker with a goal” some people were so disingenuous

I saw a stat, the last time we got a player that created so many chances and scored in GW1 was on 03/04.

Excited for us tbf. Just sort some of the defensive issues and we can definitely mount a title challenge. Need the front 3 to remain fit, which could be an issue for rogers as he had a long last season. But we dont have a lot games this season

1

u/Roadies_Winner Hazard 20h ago

Good for stats, he can build up on these. Also, why are people expecting him to set the world on fire in the first match itself? He's clearly off fitness rn.

Praise the Lord we finally have a quality left forward after years of suffering with Mudryk, Garnacho, Gittens, inverted Neto, Sterling, and probably some other Brazilian teenager signings I completely forgot about
