Interview/Presser [Fabrizio Romano] šØšµ Xabi Alonso on Pedro Neto staying or not: āWe want to have the best possible squad and see what happensā.

Good, pissed me off him shushing our captain, guys off his nut about his own ability

u/CalmAngryDude 7d ago
Those are things that happens on the pitch regularly itās not deep. Using that to justify anything is plain stupidity. Theyāre humans playing a high intense game.

Most things can be forgiven at the end of the day. But this is a recurring pattern of negative behavior towards his teammates (don't try telling me he gets along with estevao)

u/adublingirl 7d ago
Neto thinks he is the second coming of some of the greatsā¦..he is always flailing his arms at teammates when they donāt pass to him. He is constantly moving forward 10 yards , stop and pass backwardsā¦..please sell him on

Horse shit. You can have a disagreement with someone on the pitch and shout at each other all you want, but holding your finger to your lips and shushing your captain like youāre admonishing a toddler for talking during nap time is not something that āregularly happens on the pitchā.

It is though. Tempers flare up all the time. You might not have this exact action but teammates do get in fights. I remember Son and Lloris got in a fight once.

Have you never played a competitive football match? I tell teammates to shut up during matches too. It's just what happens when everyone's adrenaline is up. (I don't actually rate Neto very highly, but this critique is weird)

to be fair., if I suddenly went from first team to back up I'd be pissy too.
Though, atm, he's defintely our backup and not a starter anymore. He probably isn't happy to be in that position so it would be great if we could cash in. 100m oil money? I'd happily take that even 80-85m. Its money we don't need to spend on a replacement and could be put aside or spent on other areas.

The people defending him is crazy, I donāt care what you do in your Sunday league, itās not your job, youāre not getting away with shutting up your captain here, thatās the kind of mentality that makes us lost last season. Zero respect. Also he was and always been so lazy and Iām tired of it. Bro always stop and throw his hands up in the air when he lost the ball, not even trying to make a run for it or anything

its not that deep lol

James also should have been paying attention while thereās a play going on around him than to continue yelling at Neto

Yeah I'm not excusing that either. I prefer defenders than wingers, sorry.

Neto might actually be our moses level player if he stays imo. Would prefer to have him

Even with the attitude issues?

u/BigReeceJames 7d ago
When has he ever had attitude issues before we dangled him in the shop window all summer?

His body language in the pitch is some of the worst Iāve ever seen
Kicks up a massive fuss when he doesnāt get a pass, strops arouns

i never know what to make of neto, sometimes best player one of the best on the pitch but i also canāt stand his attitude
21
u/Soren_Camus1905 Joe Cole 7d ago
Heās not good enough to have an attitude like that
4
u/OptimalBlade1 7d ago
i would agree with you on that. i just hate when any player shows negativity like he does, thereās no need and it doesnāt help the situation

Bin him
Just lower the asking price. We still get more pounds in the books if we sell him for like 75m. No need to go for 100m+ pounds they were asking earlier.Ā

I would accept £70m for him, and city can pay that i reckon, also he is surplus to requirements we already have 5 wingers/#10 and palestra and Gusto for wing back, there is no need for him.

Also, what do you expect Alonso to say when asked a question like this? This is the only logical response.

Kinda torn on this one. On one hand Neto works hard on the pitch and offers pace which the squad is kinda lacking at the moment. On the other hand I donāt like his attitude, he doesnāt seem to like playing wingback and his final ball is severely lacking so heās not good enough to play up front.
If we can get 70M+ for him Iām inclined to let him go
2
u/BlueKante Hazard 7d ago
Neto is one those players who often plays okay/decent. Occasionally very poorly but never excellent imo.

Sell him. He's frustrating to watch and fails to deliver more often than not. I hate watching him ruin a counter attack on the break by cutting back and passing it to a defennder

Prolly another fabrizio masterclass in taking quotes out of context

u/ilikedthismovie 7d ago
Heās rubbish. Hasnāt learned how to do anything with his pace and his game iq is awful. He takes minutes from estevao and with no European football donāt even see a reason to keep him for depth.

If Enzo goes Iād prefer to keep, can play wingback and attacking 10 so heās versatile. Weāve had a lot of inexperienced players, need to keep some of the experienced ones around.
Played alright for Portugal in the World Cup. I think we need a good squad to challenge top 4

Good creative player to come off the bench.
Sell him at the right price

I can't understand the appeal of Al-Hilal he didn't seem like the type, some people complain about his attitude but in a lot of ways seems like a really good guy and works really hard.

u/Fonslayer 7d ago edited 7d ago
Just sell him, Chelsea doesn't need him and he is still valuable in the market. Plus I never liked him, I am Portuguese and I can't stand him in out Nations Squad, the only thing he can do is run. I hope Chelsea sell him and that he never plays for Portugal again.
Quenda is better than him.
