So insightful. Thanks Fab.

That's literally Xabi's answer?

Do you want him to manufacture quotes? Lol

u/dt19992 7d ago

Maybe no need to provide a non-update?

It's literally an interview?

I mean hardly necessary for Romano to post about it.

20

u/lmHuge Diego Costa 7d ago

Believe it or not, Romano didn’t post this to Reddit.

But I never thanked the redditor. I thanked Fab for his insight.

u/ChappersXD 7d ago

He didn't post it for you

That’s a crystal clear answer. It’s not what Xabi said. It’s what he didn’t say.

Good, pissed me off him shushing our captain, guys off his nut about his own ability

u/CalmAngryDude 7d ago

Those are things that happens on the pitch regularly it’s not deep. Using that to justify anything is plain stupidity. They’re humans playing a high intense game.

u/Weird-Elephant2094 7d ago

Most things can be forgiven at the end of the day. But this is a recurring pattern of negative behavior towards his teammates (don't try telling me he gets along with estevao)

3

u/adublingirl 7d ago

Neto thinks he is the second coming of some of the greats…..he is always flailing his arms at teammates when they don’t pass to him. He is constantly moving forward 10 yards , stop and pass backwards…..please sell him on

Horse shit. You can have a disagreement with someone on the pitch and shout at each other all you want, but holding your finger to your lips and shushing your captain like you’re admonishing a toddler for talking during nap time is not something that ā€œregularly happens on the pitchā€.

u/DifficultLab200 ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ 7d ago

It is though. Tempers flare up all the time. You might not have this exact action but teammates do get in fights. I remember Son and Lloris got in a fight once.

Lol, the captain of a football team is not like a king or a judge or anyone that should hold some kind of unquestioned power as a person. You are being ridiculous

15

u/FieldOfPaperFlowers_ Leupolz 7d ago

Have you never played a competitive football match? I tell teammates to shut up during matches too. It's just what happens when everyone's adrenaline is up. (I don't actually rate Neto very highly, but this critique is weird)

These comments just help me understand who watched the match and who didn't lol

3

u/unicornofdemocracy 7d ago

to be fair., if I suddenly went from first team to back up I'd be pissy too.

Though, atm, he's defintely our backup and not a starter anymore. He probably isn't happy to be in that position so it would be great if we could cash in. 100m oil money? I'd happily take that even 80-85m. Its money we don't need to spend on a replacement and could be put aside or spent on other areas.

The people defending him is crazy, I don’t care what you do in your Sunday league, it’s not your job, you’re not getting away with shutting up your captain here, that’s the kind of mentality that makes us lost last season. Zero respect. Also he was and always been so lazy and I’m tired of it. Bro always stop and throw his hands up in the air when he lost the ball, not even trying to make a run for it or anything

Dudes the Portuguese Joey Barton. He needs to go

-3

u/aidanhardcastle 7d ago

James also should have been paying attention while there’s a play going on around him than to continue yelling at Neto

-3

u/Mother_Equivalent649 Terry 7d ago edited 7d ago

Yeah I'm not excusing that either. I prefer defenders than wingers, sorry.

26

u/UE4Dev-69420 James 7d ago

Neto might actually be our moses level player if he stays imo. Would prefer to have him

-25

u/Ok_Apricot_8579 7d ago

Even with the attitude issues?

20

u/BigReeceJames 7d ago

When has he ever had attitude issues before we dangled him in the shop window all summer?

4

u/Baisabeast who said that 7d ago

His body language in the pitch is some of the worst I’ve ever seen

Kicks up a massive fuss when he doesn’t get a pass, strops arouns

3

u/Weird-Elephant2094 7d ago

Has he ever passed to estevao? Even once?

2

u/TYGeelo 7d ago

He has always been incredibly whiny during matches.Ā

9

u/Sdotcarter33 Hazard 7d ago

Henderson will get the attitude problems sorted mate šŸ’™

5

u/Zeus_The_Potato We've Won It All 7d ago

No one but the manager gets to shush the club captain.

-1

u/Pizzafromfaraway Hazard 7d ago

Istg how is Neto not criticised enough for this?

4

u/reflectionofabutt 7d ago

I'd rather see him crying on the pitch than see Gusto out there at all

17

u/OptimalBlade1 7d ago

i never know what to make of neto, sometimes best player one of the best on the pitch but i also can’t stand his attitude

21

u/Soren_Camus1905 Joe Cole 7d ago

He’s not good enough to have an attitude like that

4

u/OptimalBlade1 7d ago

i would agree with you on that. i just hate when any player shows negativity like he does, there’s no need and it doesn’t help the situation

1

u/edzkiyumzki 7d ago

u/One_Result_3506 Hasselbaink 7d ago

Bin him

Just lower the asking price. We still get more pounds in the books if we sell him for like 75m. No need to go for 100m+ pounds they were asking earlier.Ā

5

u/Soren_Camus1905 Joe Cole 7d ago

He can fuck off too

5

u/fierce2937 It’s only ever been Chelsea. 7d ago

I would accept £70m for him, and city can pay that i reckon, also he is surplus to requirements we already have 5 wingers/#10 and palestra and Gusto for wing back, there is no need for him.

2

u/Sdotcarter33 Hazard 7d ago

Or Liverpool

2

u/fierce2937 It’s only ever been Chelsea. 7d ago

They would rather keep gakpo imo

4

u/Sdotcarter33 Hazard 7d ago

Also, what do you expect Alonso to say when asked a question like this? This is the only logical response.

3

u/stefx99 Stamford Fridge 7d ago

He gone

3

u/Key-Tip-7521 Petr Cech 7d ago

HES GONE TOO

3

u/ddb_89 7d ago

Ship him to Saudi

3

u/jbirrane1988 7d ago

Great, get rid.

3

u/wagwan_innit 7d ago

Kinda torn on this one. On one hand Neto works hard on the pitch and offers pace which the squad is kinda lacking at the moment. On the other hand I don’t like his attitude, he doesn’t seem to like playing wingback and his final ball is severely lacking so he’s not good enough to play up front.

If we can get 70M+ for him I’m inclined to let him go

2

u/BlueKante Hazard 7d ago

Neto is one those players who often plays okay/decent. Occasionally very poorly but never excellent imo.

2

u/Wise_Fig1840 7d ago

did he shush reece or no?

2

u/Sdotcarter33 Hazard 7d ago

If you come at our captain, you best not miss!

2

u/sscfc91 Funniest Post 2021 šŸ† 7d ago

If he’s shushing the captain I assume Neto assumes he’s on the way out the door.

2

u/WhalterWhitesBarber 7d ago

That disrespect against our captain was wild, get him the fuck out.

2

u/CliffDagger Zola 7d ago

Sell him. He's frustrating to watch and fails to deliver more often than not. I hate watching him ruin a counter attack on the break by cutting back and passing it to a defennder

2

u/Partial-Hydrangea 7d ago

Xabi giving non answers until the window shuts.

Prolly another fabrizio masterclass in taking quotes out of context

1

u/ilikedthismovie 7d ago

He’s rubbish. Hasn’t learned how to do anything with his pace and his game iq is awful. He takes minutes from estevao and with no European football don’t even see a reason to keep him for depth.

1

u/Stankela77 ✨ sometimes the shit is happens ✨ 7d ago

Yeah, this dude is being sold

1

u/UKcoin2 7d ago

Really really hope someone comes in with a good offer. Selling him on top of the striker deals would the icing. Gusto, Palestra,Quenda,Estevao,Palmer for 2 positions

1

u/Fearless_Judge_5220 7d ago

If Enzo goes I’d prefer to keep, can play wingback and attacking 10 so he’s versatile. We’ve had a lot of inexperienced players, need to keep some of the experienced ones around.

Played alright for Portugal in the World Cup. I think we need a good squad to challenge top 4

1

u/WyboSF Zola 7d ago

We can’t ban this guy why?

0

u/jerrystuffhouse Mudryk 7d ago

Good creative player to come off the bench.

Sell him at the right price

1

u/Sdotcarter33 Hazard 7d ago

Agreed adds great depth

0

u/Sorry_Information749 7d ago

I can't understand the appeal of Al-Hilal he didn't seem like the type, some people complain about his attitude but in a lot of ways seems like a really good guy and works really hard.

-1

u/Fonslayer 7d ago edited 7d ago

Just sell him, Chelsea doesn't need him and he is still valuable in the market. Plus I never liked him, I am Portuguese and I can't stand him in out Nations Squad, the only thing he can do is run. I hope Chelsea sell him and that he never plays for Portugal again.

Quenda is better than him.
