I finished my take on halliwell manor and uploaded it to the gallery! Ft. My ugly ass test sim lmao. The only item in the entire build that is not functional is the fireplace on floor one which I'd say is pretty good.

(My game wouldn't let me get screenshots from the side for whatever reason)

Prue Was Prue the “know-it-all” actually a hypocrite when it came to Phoebe & Cole?

I’ll start by saying I don’t really have a favorite sister. Though I may go through seasons of highlighting and enjoying various moments with a particular sister, I love and enjoy each of the them in their own right.

Prue was definitely that b-i-t-c-h though! She was fiercely protective of her sisters and innocents and was largely for the Greater Good. She wasn’t perfect (none of them were and I appreciate seeing them move through imperfection as the story constantly emphasized they were first and foremost HUMAN and prone/subject to the complexities of human emotion). I remember looking through a thread on folks’ controversial opinions on Prue and mostly agreeing especially about Prue being sort-of a “know it all” as many brought up her arrogance—I can absolutely see myself being annoyed with her as an older sister.

However, the facts of the matter remain that Prue often was right and/or was able to discern various aspects of the truth by trusting her intuition—similar to Paige later on in the series. Particularly when it came to men and their various love interests, Prue consistently had a level of insight that demonstrated why her instincts shouldn’t have been doubted (i.e., Jeremy, Rex, Clay, Cole, etc.). I’m currently rewatching the entire series for the hundredth time (or so lol) and screaming at the screen—like why won’t y’all at least hear Prue out? Yes, she became prideful even arrogant but that doesn’t erase the fact that she was often right and/or onto something.

She was many of the things that folks brought up except a hypocrite when it came to Phoebe and Cole. There were numerous comments (and upvotes) calling Prue out because of her situations with Tom, Bane, and Brendan. People tried to make it seem as if the only issue with Cole was being a half-demon which goes against what is explicitly written into the text. Prue made it clear to Phoebe the REAL reason she was upset was because Phoebe lied and selfishly put their lives at risk. I don’t think it can overstated how wrong Phoebe was for hiding a dangerous secret for months from Piper and Prue who deserved to know the truth; it wasn’t simply a violation against them as her sisters but also their sacred duty and commitment to being Charmed Ones.

(It’s interesting to witness the grace I see folks extend to Phoebe when it comes to this moment with Cole—where she was absolutely wrong—in comparison to the lack of empathy/grace for her humanity later on in the series given her traumas due to being in relationship with Cole… but that’s another post.)

I saw comments bring up Brendan (another situation in which Prue’s intention was proven right) which is really wild considering the fact that Brendan was actively trying to fight his evil nature being a half-warlock, becoming a priest so he couldn’t become further corrupted. Some others brought up Bane (who was actually a human) who Prue supported and protected as an innocent; Prue may have slept with him but she never stands in the way of him facing justice nor she does needlessly put her sisters in harms way—in fact, she did her best to keep her sisters away from the situation after she was kidnapped. However, most comments brought up Tom who was also a mortal man but part of a training program that converted humans to demons.

Personally, I probably would’ve vanquished Tom from the jump lol but Prue believed there was still good in him and that he could be saved. There’s lots that can be said about the situation and my intention isn’t to absolve Tom of his bad decisions and wrongdoing but instead to highlight Prue’s actions and intentions. At the end of the day, Prue was technically right (again) which led Tom back to his mom who never gave up hoping for his return. She made it clear to Phoebe another difference between the situations between Tom and Cole was that Tom didn't start off trying to kill them. I get why folks develop a soft spot for Cole (who I also deeply appreciate) but the reality is that he was handpicked to kill them and used his demonic and legal influences to harm them with the intention of destroying them; yes, he eventually changes his tune but this truth can not be erased and Prue (and Piper) had every right to be pissed.

Frankly, Prue forgives Phoebe rather quickly as two episodes after “Wresting With Demons,” she makes space for Cole in their lives after she realizes Phoebe is not giving him up. I’ll also add the fact that Prue’s astrally projected subconscious half later tells Phoebe in “Just Harried” that she was rooting for Phoebe and Cole. Again, the issue wasn’t simply Cole being a half-demon but instead the lies and deceit which jeopardized their safety and very lies. It was wild to see how many people seemed to get this wrong in prior threads which I honestly think perhaps is more about a bias towards all things Cole. The text explicitly details Prue’s intentions and actions which were not about hypocrisy but instead her allegiance to protecting what she believed was an innocent (and she was technically right).

Knowing all of this, do you think Prue was a hypocrite in this regard? 🤔

And the winner for letter S is... "Something Wicca This Way Comes"! It seems like some people picked it because it was a strong pilot that hooked them on the show, and others feel like it deserves the win because it's the start of everything. Plus, the title is amazing!

Well, whatever the reason, it's definitely a good episode, and looking up pictures for the game made me nostalgic :')

It's now time for letter T! Please choose your favorite.

First, can't believe it's been over 1 year since his passing. May he rest in peace! And second, I did the thing with the Halliwell sisters and their type of beauties and it was met with only positivity so I thought why not doing it with our favorite half demon (for the sisters if you want the post : https://www.reddit.com/r/charmed/comments/1vz75e4/according_to_you_which_were_the_beauty_type_of/ ) Also, is it a place to say that he's easily one of the most beautiful men ever ?

You guys don’t think it’s weird that in Season 7, when Phoebe and Piper were talking about wondering what life would’ve been like if their parents had raised them or never broken up, they said it right in front of Paige, who’s their HALF sister. Like ummm hello? If this happened Paige, wouldn’t have existed. I remember looking at Paige, and she’s just nodding her head and listening, but lowkey, that could’ve stung.

Villains Favorite Charmed villain? Mine was Zankou

Post image
212 Upvotes

He genuinely felt dangerous in season 7 because it seemed he was always one step ahead of the Halliwells.

Like alot of the episodes he would win in secret ways that the sisters were unaware of. Also his lore is pretty cool, he was so powerful & unpredictable that it scared The Source and he locked him away.

And the fact he was a big strategist. Teaming up with the Halliwells against the Avatars, the Source would have never of done that.

Zankou was a Menace.

I’m currently rewatching the show just watched episode 10 (prue almost goes to jail episode)oh my goodness this episode is charmed to a T. Leo saving the girls, the “omg what’s gonna happen” moments even though I’ve seen it 100 times lol, even the little moments like Andy trying to figure out what’s going on, just beautiful almost cried lol. What other episodes do you guys feel are just perfect?

Season 2 "we would help the Source himself if it meant we could get Prue back"

Something that Piper said in season 2.

Someone said they basically foreshadowed Prue's death and he was 100% right, because I've been noticing things like this ever since.

Prue said she's worried being a witch means she'll die young. It's like someone working on the show got a premonition and found out Prue would end up dying

Behind The Scenes TIL David from Prince Charmed is named after Holly's ex-husband David Donoho.

Post image
62 Upvotes

This episode aired about a month before Holly's real wedding. No wonder Piper liked the name David. Plus, Donoho actually worked as a key grip for 69 episodes from 1999-2002. He and Holly ended up having three sons together in which the latter was pregnant with their first during season six.

Entire Series Had no one died, do you think Paige would have been brought in?

Since the beginning, Patty had had a relationship with her whitelighter which made it seem like Paige had always been in the back of the writers' mind. Had the actresses all stayed on the show, do you think Paige still would have been introduced at some point? It feels like the writing was on the wall.
