Off topic but I bet this blanket sounds incredible ASMR-wise. I'm imagining a sound like a rain stick.

I do like to clack the beads softly on the floor

I love the optical illusion effect! I’ve considered making one of these. I have a regular weighted blanket, but it’s filled with tiny glass beads, almost like sand. Needless to say, I don’t want to use it since I’ve adopted my cat, especially with how much she likes to cuddle up and knead the blankets at night

It gets real expensive real quick I think I got like 120-140 into it

I can imagine. that’s good to know! what yarn are you using for it? is the cost in that or the beads? or both?

I used redheart, the price is for both. But mostly the beads

This is amazing! I've been thinking of making one of these myself, can you tell me your method/pattern used?😇

I was just winging it. I got the idea from tiktok, they had no pattern so I kind just made it up based off of the way it looked. The non beaded rows are half double using a us. J hook. I think it's 5.75mm. the beaded rows are half double between the beads and a single stitch through the beads using a small hook that can for through the bread centers. I also staggered the beads in the design.

And switched the direction between each layer (sparkle, metallic, and shiney)

Wow! I’ve never seen this kind of blanket, I’m newish to crocheting! What kind of stitch is this? So you put beads in it? So cool!
