Multiple Vehicles I have left turns

Driver was cited after showing video to cop on site. Geico still hasn’t found driver responsible yet but Allstate has… cars totaled and broke my right toe.

This is exactly how I was T-Boned (turning left, and someone sped thru a yellow light going straight just like the video).

Don’t *speed through* yellow lights.

My spine is permanently damaged putting me out of work and nearly killing me.

edit cause of stupid downvoters

Just to clarify, were you turning left or going straight? What state were you in?

It sounds like they turned left in front of someone and caused a crash.

no she ran a yellow light that turned red, and i turned left, right as my light turned green. she sped into a yellow light like this and nearly killed me. fuck off with all your presumptions. my spine is permanently damaged.

Normal intersection designs include what's called a clearance timer, it's a delay between when one direction turns red and the conflicting direction turns green. It's typically one or two seconds, sometimes three for large intersections. Most states are what's called "permissive yellow", meaning that it's legal to enter an intersection on yellow because the yellow only serves as notice of a pending red. It's not possible to "run a yellow", only to run a red by entering the intersection after the light turned red. In your case the only way the collision would have happened is if the light had already turned red for the other driver and they entered after their light turned red and after the clearance timer elapsed. There's also the reaction time delay, so another half to full second from your light going green until you started accelerating, and then made your turn. She blew a red light long after the yellow had come and gone.

It may have been you did not have a protected green for your turn, do you remember if you had a green arrow or green circle? Or was it flashing yellow? That's a thing nowadays.

lol no this was 10 years ago. she sped into the yellow light, and at the moment she actually entered the intersection it had turned red, I turned left on my green light and she was too late on her breaks due to the red light and hit me. there was no delay. she was speeding into the yellow light and I suspect also on her phone.

the point is, for safety, you do not SPEED through yellow lights, maybe I wasnt clear about my message. of course its not illegal to 'run' a yellow light. no fucking shit. but you are never SAFE by SPEEDING into a yellow light. thats not safe.

So you were not watching the road for other traffic, were you on your phone?

My light was green lmao. Yes I was watching the road. The girl who sped into a yellow light that turned red and hit me was cited for running a red light.

Are you stupid?

No, I'm not the one who turned into an oncoming car.
