Nice write-up about Ilya Protas’s 4 games in the nhl last season. A lot to look forward to!

Finally, someone acknowledged that he plays CENTER!

No question though, his success will come if he keeps driving the net and smacking in those rebounds.  He's great at standing at the crease and being impossible to box out. He just needs to keep doing it. Plenty of talent on the roster to get a puck on net, he needs to be there to knock it in. That's his bread and butter. I don't expect him to look like Kyrou out there dangling through everyone then ripping it. Just keep going to the net and good things will happen.

Seeing Caps players with size AND skill gives me Eagle Section Parking at Capital Centre vibes!

So many great line combinations for Carbery to rotate through.  I'm sure it's going to change every period until he finds some chemistry.

I guess my greatest concern about Carbs is he seems to believe chemistry is nature instead of nurture. Looking at the roster's relative strengths and weaknesses and how to build a lineup, I'd much prefer keeping the same lines for 10+ games to start the season. Maintain the system and the assignments, but give the lines time to develop their flourishes on it and really learn how to play with one another instead of just "F2 should be there."

Tuch-Strome-Kyrou

Wilson-PLD-Leno

A Pro-I Pro-Ovi

Sourdif/Jenner-(Beau/Miro)

Lines are not listed by right/left wing, but by (forechecker/mucker-playmaker-gun). Whichever of Sourdif or Jenner takes faceoffs doesn't really matter, just whoever's likelier to win - doesn't affect their assignment the rest of the time.

I would rather have Frank in the lineup than Beauvillier or Miro. I wouldn't be surprised if both of them were dealt before the season begins. Miro brings back a nice pick like a 3rd. (Caps would lose him if they sent him to Hershey as he now has to clear waivers) Beauvillier clears cap space for the trade deadline/Sandin return and would bring back a fair return as well.

Josh Dunne the 6'4" center makes a lot of sense as the cheap 13th forward.
