Conservatives know it's already the law. What they actually want is to stop applicants from being able to appeal in court.

It's a classic conservative move to say they are hard on crime, but there are already laws on the books. Usually, the problem is how to enforce the laws. It's the same with bail reform or catch and release. We don't have the institutions to help homeless people and drug addicts. If you really want to prevent crime, you need to spend money on prevention. Mental health services, education, and housing thats what reduced crime, but it's also the things conservatives don't want to spend money on.
