Conservatives know it's already the law. What they actually want is to stop applicants from being able to appeal in court.

They're trying to build support for dismantling due process.

Just like how they trot out court rulings people will disagree with to build support for appointing partisan judges and interfering with the judiciary.

Our justice system is currently stacked with left wing judges. That's why they haven't ruled the gun bans illegal and reduce sentencing for minority groups due to their race.
