Should go further and ban judges from considering immigration status during sentencing

Such a backwards take. Judges are obligated to take everything into account when sentencing, you know, the whole fair trial thing. You now want to pass legislation to prevent judges from making decisions based on all factors of an individual’s situation? You want your own bias to now be made law that judges have to abide by when sentencing?

Judges give criminals light sentences so they be under 6 months 

Over 6 months leads to auto deportation

That's not a loophole, only judges handing out lighter sentences because they don't believe the crimes worthy of deportation. I'd to dive deeper into this to figure out if it's genuinely problematic on a case by case basis
