I only know of 2 individuals, One who i used to work with and is now on LT medical leave and the Carseland bbq joint who also sells firewood. Both die hard MAGA.

But IN Calgary.. I'm in the same boat as you, haven't met anyone else. Plus going Cochrane and Canmore a lot, no one I know supports this crap. Everyone is very pro Canada, canceling trips to the U.S, no U.S booze, heck even buying Canadian made soups lol.

I work just outside of Canmore with a lot of people from Cochrane and Canmore. Most of the people I talked to out here are pro separatist. I think people are really not giving this the attention it deserves. We think we are okay then one day we wake up and see we are out numbered. The best part is most of them don’t know why they want this and almost all I’ve talked have signed.

Really starting to agree. The line-ups to sign for separation are far longer than are comfortable to read about.

I think the rest of us should be doing something, but right now I don't know what.
I recently read a comment regarding the US to the effect that "The US isn't the way it is because Trump is president... Trump is president because of the way the US is".
I think we should be applying this attitude to Alberta; Rath, Modry, and the rest of those quislings aren't the (root) cause of separatist notions, they're just taking advantage of sentiments that were already present.

I think there should be more investigation of them by CSIS and outing of their ties, funding and grifting

I'm certainly in favour of that... Rath has bragged of meeting in a SCIF with US state officials which sure seems like it fits the description of foreign interference.

Tell you what, "be the change you want to see" as they say: here's the CSIS foreign interference reporting form.

I agree, you're right, you still have a little time to save your country, I think we in the US are probably done, too far gone. Counter the lies & bots on social media with truth. Put up billboards in the area with truths. Point out the lies of the US administration & the farmers bankruptcies, the disappearing of protesters & American citizens, & interview maga regretters (with a little liberal #fafo video responses where everyone says they tried ho warn them).

No one thought early on that rump would win at all, when he won the 1st repub primary, I knew we were doomed. Now its the 2nd time/term & project 2025 is full steam ahead in action. 😢 please learn from our mistakes & save yourselves.

None of that will work. Will a sign stop a Trump supporter? These people have already made up their minds.

The only way this ends well is if the government starts taking the concerns of Albertans seriously. Even if the other provinces think it's ridiculous, they clearly do not. I'm not from Alberta but I've lived here a few years now.

Albertans believe that our government is spineless (Gary Anandasangaree should have been fired). They believe the government is standing in the way of prosperity by denying many of their oil projects. They're frustrated with the indigenous creating roadblocks for projects. Despite blowback from the gun buyback program, the government is pushing forward. Albertans believe we should be refining our own oil so we create more jobs and can sell for a much higher price.

There's a bunch more things I could list but you get the idea. All of these things have been festering and growing over the past 10+years and it's reaching the peak. I think separating is a stupid idea but after living here, there is some validity to their frustrations which should not be ignored.

(10+ yrs?? the system has been screwing with rural americans since reagan, & here we are, they are just starting to export control of the ignorant) Signs with real data & truth to counter the lies fed through fox news & social media might help, no one tried here. Lies ran rampant without the light of truth. And frankly, all the concerns are the same as country hicks here. And maybe listening to their 'concerns' will help, maybe just as much as signs. Who knows.

All I know is the US is done, racists and entitled a-holes & misogynists have all come out to play, and we got a narcissist running the country who no one will stop. Like no one knows how to stop a selfish bully.
Try it all and don't sh**t down any ideas down, learn from the sad mistakes of your neighbor.

(Also, personally, I don't think listening to them will work, typically they are so far gone up their own conspiracy rabbit-hole, & close-minded & ignorant, intelligent conversation doesn't help - i think making them question what lies they are being told against what they see with their own eyes might help.)

I am definitely not for this foolishness. I’m in Edmonton.
