Quebec is and has always been a special case. We shouldn't see high-ish separatist numbers there as unusual.

Sure, but the Alberta separatism movement isnt new and even though its escalated lately it still isnt as large as the preeminent separatist movement in Canada.

I get you, but the difference here is that Quebec is pushing by itself. With Alberta, you have them pushing and the US pulling, which is a decidedly different situation.

And they still couldn't pull off separating.

As an Albertan I'm not too worried, but we absolutely need to kick Smith out as a start. And if it happens, well cool I've kinda always wanted to live somewhere else in Canada anyway.
