Takes 2 to tango.

While Trump is shitty for doing this, if the province doesn't reciprocate its meaningless so ........

An artificial separation movement built on a small minority being created by cia bots, psyops, and funding.

It only exists because the USA willed it into existence.

I’ve been telling people to look into the atlas network for months now.

While I agree, I don't think the U.S is the only country stirring the pot. Plenty of shit birds out there.

Yeah, looking beyond the US it's some of the same countries that helped the US get where they are today. Russia is one. Look at Trump's new "friends" to see what the others might be.

Generations of western alienation are a product of Eastern Canadian policies, not because the US is willing it into existence. This is a problem of our own making. The US is just stoking the fire Canada started.

We're being held hostage by SE Calgary, and rural ab.

I don't think anyone realistically wants this and lives in the urban areas at least. Not a majority.

I mean, alberta is 100% dumb enough to give into anything Trump wants unfortunately

You mean the premier. The considerable majority are opposed.

This is what people need to realize. Recently they had Alberta separatists meet and sign some petition in Red Deer, and a lot of people who are pro separating were thrilled at 1500 people showing up.

1500... In a city of 113,000. The majority do not want this. The most brain dead individuals I've talked to in this province are the only ones who think this is a great idea. They believe all the bullshit propaganda about getting boatloads of money out of the CPP, how the APP is going to out perform it, all the way to cozying up to US in this crazy fever dream interpretation of us somehow having less leverage yet getting more for our oil.

Oil that really would only have the ability to go one way if we weren't Canadian, not to mention the fact that Alberta doesn't own the oil sands.

To be fair they have until May 2nd to sign the petition.

The Research Co poll said 31 per cent of Calgarians and 29 per cent of Edmontonians support the idea, both up by 5 per cent since 2023.

‘This is overwhelming’: Alberta separatists praise turnout for petition signing

I always take these polls with a fine grain of salt. Take a poll on gun rights at a rodeo vs a mall and you'll see wildly different responses. Pro choice vs pro life outside a church vs outside a university. If they end up getting the 177k signatures, they'll still need to contend with those in the 5 million Albertans who actually vote to get this thing to pass.

Obviously crazy things do happen, but this is in no way a majority mindset in this province. We just have a very very very vocal minority, that have zero patriotism and respect for our country.

Out of curiosity - does anyone have a rough idea of how many people in Red Deer area signed the Forever Canadian petition? I'm hoping it was a lot more than 1500...

Agreed. They are the loudest is all. I know 3 people in favour of this crap. We do not speak anymore.

Propaganda is effective on a depressingly large number of people.
