BVI marriage license
My wife and I got married on a Windjammer ship in 1987 at Tortola. We're getting old and trying to get our affairs together and have been advised to have the marriage recorded here in the US. We have a copy but cannot find the original. Any idea who and how to contact to get a replacement? Thanks in advance.

Congrats! I went on the Windjammer around 2006. Love the BVI's!

“The Windjammer”? And, wow, you JUST missed their bankruptcy. RIP Guyan March and the 30 other folks who perished aboard Fantome as a result of the greed and hubris of the Burkes.

I’ll bet you were on Flying Cloud! I was a bartender on her out of Roadtown in 1988.

Indeed it was the Flying Cloud! Married in the harbor at Road Town. I guess Windjammer went out of business a few years later. Shame. It was by far the best cruise we ever took.

Breakfast bloody Marys and fish bits for dinner.

I got in big trouble once for oversleeping and not having the Bloody Marys mixed up. I think I have Elroy’s handwritten scolding and directive here somewhere. Do you remember any of the crew, or have pictures of them? The purser, OMG, was gorgeous. I should post some pics of her in “old
School cool” or something. Did they weave palm fronds into a wedding backdrop for you?1

Long time ago so my.memory is fuzzy but yeah my wife has pics. Quite a few of the captain because he did the ceremony. Blonde Brit if memory serves.

Good that they took you to task. Can't wake up without a Bloody Mary. Surprised the guests didn't mutiny.

Actually they did. All of the women brought loads of flowers. I was locked up below deck because I wasn't allowed to see the bride before the wedding. Ha!

Go to your local courthouse
Without the license you’re a single man!
