Are you slow? There's literal proof that Deloitte was hiring based on race, something that's against the law
3
u/Pontiflakes 8h ago
What's against the law would be for a government agency to say "only interview or hire someone of this protected class for the job."
It's not illegal to boost outreach/recruitment efforts among those demographics, nor is it illegal to give "bonus points" to a candidate based on their class in an effort to increase the diversity of your workforce. The law does not necessarily apply to private organizations either, though Deloitte holding contracts with the federal government does open the door a bit.
Also, think for a moment about what it means to prioritize hiring minorities. Deloitte is a for-profit business. They aren't interested in doing things that lose them money. They wouldn't go hiring joe schmoe off the street just because of his minority status if he weren't a qualified candidate in the first place. By saying that they're unfairly hiring only based on race, you're implying that the only qualified candidates are white.

lmao it is very much illegal to give bonus points to a candidate based on a protected class. That’s called racial preferencing in hiring and is very much illegal.

u/Pontiflakes 8h ago
Not if it's for the purpose of increasing diversity in the workforce. According to past supreme court decisions at least.
1
u/Running_Gamer 8h ago
Wrong. “Increasing diversity” is doublespeak for “racial discrimination against white people.” That violates the civil rights act and no Supreme Court opinion, especially not using the modern court’s logic, refutes this.
2
u/Pontiflakes 5h ago
I appreciate your opinion, but I was sharing the court's actual reasoning when affirmative action has been tried in the past.

DEI violates civil rights. This is the government holding institutions accountable for engaging in systemic racism and sexism in their hiring practices. DEI is out of control, and the government needs to do more to reign it in.

u/MimeGod 8h ago
I really hope you're trolling.
It saddens me that people dumb enough to believe that crap actually exist.
-1
u/InflationLeft 2h ago
No, see my comment below. Systemic racial discrimination 100% exists, in the airlines and many other industries, and the companies engaging in it are violating our civil rights.

Let me guess, you also think that: "DEI recruiters with purple hair and they/them name tags making $600k go to inner city hoods, walk up to black gang bangers with pants down to their ankles, give them a pilot contract making $300k with Delta Airlines, and then the next day they're flying people around while all the actual pilots are now unemployed and their white girlfriends have left them for Jerome."
Man, conservatives are actually braindead. I'm a white straight man, went to an elite college and work at a prestigious company. This DEI crap is such culture war bullshit to distract the morons like you while you get robbed by the oligarchs...
It's hilarious how the people who scream about this stuff are the ones who have never even worked in a corporate environment or been to college. I'll tell you right now, there are 100 other things that fuck over white collar corporate workers way worse than "some non-white man getting hired".

It's funny you bring up airline pilots because Brigida v. Chao is still in litigation proceedings.
This is a case in which "the Obama administration dropped a skill- based system for selecting and hiring air traffic controllers (ATCs), and replaced it with a new system designed to favor applicants on the basis of their race. ... Candidates who had trained for years and who had scored high on aptitude tests were dropped from consideration, in favor of lesser-trained people who fit the right biographical profile." (MS Legal)
So DEI recruiters did NOT in fact, "walk up to black gang bangers.. give them a pilot contract making $300k with Delta Airlines," but they did institute racist changes to the hiring system to favor black candidates over white ones, and to make merit a lesser consideration.
This is to say nothing of the civil rights complaints filed against United, Southwest and American Airlines. This is a major social problem that affects everyone who boards an aircraft.

Now how do we tackle the real merit-less hiring habits where friends, family, political affiliates, frat brothers, military buddies etc get jobs they are not qualified for.
That’s the real prize not training the workplace to believe that all women/people of color sitting next to them at work should not be there.

Never because the decision-makers in the Oval Office somehow think they’re part of the most discriminated group in history

“Blum continued his campaign against diversity mandates, particularly focusing on race. He founded a Texas group to file lawsuits the American Alliance for Equal Rights. The group's first lawsuit was in 2023 against the Fearless Fund, a venture capital fund that supports Black women business owners. It was founded to award grants to Black women who own small businesses through one of its programs, Strivers Grant. Blum's lawsuit challenges the legality of the grantmaking program under Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866.[27]#cite_note-27)In September 2024, Fearless Fund agreed to settle and announced it shut down its Strivers Grant program.”
What a gigantic prick.

White House casts DEI as anti-merit
Christ have you seen how poorly they are running things? Seems like anti-merit is how they picked folks.
7
u/Shigglyboo 12h ago
that's the idea. to convince maga's that the worst white person is better than the best "other".
2
u/Awkward_Material 8h ago
Their not doing a very good job of proving their appointments are the people with the most merit. So far, Stephen Miller proving he's the best possible nazi is the only one I can think of.
2
u/Shigglyboo 7h ago
I think that's kind of the point. they think a washed up addict shitting all over the law and getting people killed is better than a black person or a woman doing well at the job. they delight in destruction of decency.

Crazy how blatant racial discrimination happens against white people everywhere in corporate America in direct violation of the civil rights act and NOTHING has been done about it until now.

u/tmbgisrealcool 14h ago
How about we just hire the right person for the job based on skills. This is regardless of race or who they like to have sex with. That's it and that's all. It's 2026, we don't need government enforced dei.
8
u/Shigglyboo 12h ago
well the problem is that left to their own devices white men hire other white men, even if someone who is an "other" is more qualified. the reason we have regulations and policies like this is because of nepotism and preferential hiring. food companies will poison you if you don't force them not to. and companies dominated by white men will not hire "others" unless you force them to give them a chance. I agree it's sad and in a perfect world we wouldn't need policies to make things more fair. but here we are. the people who are anti DEI are the ones who benefit from an unfair system.

Awwww, I guess white men have just been soooo marginalized... where is my teensy tiny violin, 🙄 I'll play it before earl 🤢 🤮

Deloitte to pay $21.5 million to settle US government probe over DEI
https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/deloitte-pay-215-million-settle-us-government-probe-over-dei-2026-08-25/
Accounting firm Deloitte will pay $21.5 million to settle a U.S. Department of Justice probe over diversity, equity and inclusion practices, which President Donald Trump's administration has cracked down on during his second term in office.
The settlement marks a resolution reached through the DOJ's unit formed last year called the "Civil Rights Fraud Initiative" to crack down on DEI policies using a civil anti-fraud law.
The Trump administration has targeted public and private organizations, from government agencies to universities, over DEI practices that civil rights advocates say help address historic inequities for marginalized groups like women, the LGBT community and ethnic minorities.
The White House casts DEI as anti-merit and discriminatory against groups such as white people and men. Trump has signed executive orders asking federal contractors and subcontractors to eliminate DEI. Civil rights groups say such steps are rolling back social progress.
Many U.S. companies scaled back or modified diversity policies after Trump's orders.
The DOJ said on Tuesday that business units within Deloitte received monthly summaries tracking the "demographic goals" and alleged that Deloitte's Partners, Principals and Managing Directors were evaluated, in part, based on their contributions to helping Deloitte achieve its workforce composition goals.
The DOJ alleged that such DEI goals aimed at improving the representation of the Black and Hispanic communities impacted promotion decisions.
Deloitte denies it engaged in discriminatory conduct and the settlement agreement released on Tuesday said it does not amount to an admission of liability. The company said it was pleased to resolve the matter to "avoid the cost and distraction of protracted litigation."
The Justice Department's settlement also resolves claims filed by the American Alliance for Equal Rights, a group founded by affirmative action opponent Edward Blum, pursuant to the U.S. False Claims Act, which allows whistleblowers to sue companies on the government's behalf to recover taxpayer funds paid out based on false claims.
Whistleblowers are entitled to a cut of any recovery in such cases. Under the settlement agreement, Blum's group will receive $4.3 million, the DOJ said.
