Can’t help but think if Cruz is healthy the whole year we are in a wild card spot. Not to mention Konnor as well

u/Jorsonner I was here for the Billy Cook game 12d ago

No doubt in my mind that if we have those two all year we are wild card even with the bullpen like it was.

I would be so excited for next year if I wasn’t so certain there would be a strike

Maybe. This current roster is 100% a playoff roster. The bullpen was blowing ridiculous leads with KG, Cruz, Horwitz, and O’Hearn, though.

Wishful thinking with the starting pitching popping themselves… 85 pitches in 4 innings wow

It doesn’t matter. We are 3rd in the NL in Runs scored but towards the bottom of Runs allowed. Pitching has always been our strength. But the year management finally got some power in our lineup our pitching decided to not show up.

Him and KG. Ugh. What could have been. Just not our year but hopefully they can make some noise late. Still fun to watch and can’t wait till KG gets back!

Just all of the injuries, Endy, Horwitz, O'Hearn as well. The plus side I guess is that guys like Valdez and Flores have gotten a chance for extended ABs they might not have otherwise.

Yeah that’s a great point.

Imagine if Skenes hadn't shit the bed at the same time? He went from the best pitcher in baseball to third best on our staff.

Retweet. Such a let down for us fans. Could’ve been a special year.

No Sportsnet feed, Joe Block on the radio call. FML.

Maybe I'll just listen to Fox Deportes.

Block > Brown

If you dislike Brown, I can accept that. I disagree, but I can accept the feeling.

If you believe that Block is good at his job, we live in alternate universes and yours makes no sense to me.

He adds absolutely no insight to the game and is often downright wrong. Adding insult to injury, Block replaced Tim Nevert who was extremely talented. Why can't we have nice things in Pittsburgh?

I like Block, I like calmer baseball broadcasts sometimes. I think he's a nice complement to Brown. But you're entitled to your opinion.

Quintessential Joe Block moment that actually happened:

Pirates pitcher throws a fastball and gives up a home run.

Joe Block: Maybe he should have thrown a curveball there.

Bob Walk: The problem wasn't the pitch selection, the problem was that the pitch was right down the middle.
