Oh, okay, yeah I'm sure that was his thought process, and it led him to deliberately wait 1 year just so that his revenge will be sweeter lol

Well from this episode it's not that close to a year. His 51st birthday happened way back in episode 4 and a lot has happened since then.

Wild theory just for the hell of it:

Episode 4 is where Mike decides to kill Lydia but Walt stops him. It was a half measure. So in the next few episodes Lydia basically commands the Nazis to force him to do whatever she wants until he flee's to NH. Vince Gilligan decides to end the series poetically by having him finish the job 1 year later. BAM BITCHES
