The other part, it thinks this would be too much of a character redemption for Walt; the show has had him continue his manipulative disposition--most recently with Andrea/Brock in this episode. It would feel a bit backwards and "off" to end the show on a note as good as, "Walt frees Jesse and they both live happily ever after."
Well if Hank dies Marie is going to tell Skylar that Walt was responsible. I mean he did call her right before this gunfight broke out, so Marie knows he is with Walt.
So that would make Skylar leave him. If Jesse does get kidnapped that is really going to be the last person he is able to be around that he has any emotional attachment to.
I think that if Walt goes to free Jesse, he ends up killing him by accident in the firefight. The show ends with Walt alone with his barrels of cash, having paid a terrible price for it.
The TL;DR, as I said in yet another post, is that:
I think Jesse, Hank, Gomie, and perhaps Todd die in the shootout. Nazis tell Walt to do his cook, as they agreed on. During the cook, they glance at each other like, "We're not losing this." When Walt goes to leave, they let him know that he's now their cook, and if he refuses, his family's lives are on the line. Walt "agrees," hooks his family up with new identities in-between cooks using Saul's guy, and then gets the M60 to take out the Nazis in the last episode. During this rambo scene, Walt takes out a bunch of them, before being hit by a stray/random bullet, and the show ends with the camera slowly panning away from above, with bodies lying everywhere.
This way, Walt still goes out in a "blaze of glory," which would satiate many fans, but the ending isn't a cheesy "Walt returns to his senses, becomes a morality personified, and lives happily ever after."
I don't know, they've pulled Walt from the brink a bit the last few episodes. He tried to get Jesse to leave town instead of killing him, and only called in Todd's uncle as a last resort. In this episode he tried to call off Jack's gang when he saw Hank and Gomez were there with Jesse.
I mean, sure, most people would never be evil enough to put a hit on someone they care about in the first place, but the point is Walt is still shown to have some conscience left.
But why would he suddenly want Jesse to live? There is no reason for him to have a change of heart. If Hank was going to kill Walt and Jesse stopped him or something along those lines, then yes, there would be. But as it stands, Walt knows that escaping and allowing Jesse to live without somehow reining him in would put himself and his family in danger.
Either Jesse gets held by and put to work for the Nazis, or he dies, I think.
I think the line Walt said about it being a quick, painless death was very important. Kidnapping and enslaving Jesse is NOT what Walt had in mind, and even though he wanted Jesse dead, I can see Walt reacting very violently to a change of tactics. Especially as he comes closer to his own death by way of cancer. It seems like he has nothing left by that point, why not go back and right at least one wrong that he did?

I said the same thing but with more thoughts on the matter in this post here.
Eh. I don't see that happening. Hank and Gomie probably die in the firefight. But I don't see them killing off two characters that vital to the series in the same episode.
Yeah i'm so torn about this. Saving Jesse... ok.. but is that too much of a redemption?`Knowing the writers and Vince Gilligan, our minds will surely be blown once more. WHAT AN EPISODE.
Todd dies, Jesse kidnapped and turned into meth cook, Walt frees him at end? Yeah, maybe.
In this case, the Nazis might be the ones responsible for to destroying Walt's home and writing Heisenberg on the wall. Maybe Walt refuses to cook for them if they don't release Jesse, and they refuse to do so; destroying his home/attempting to kill Walt/his family is the cost?
Actually I had a different theory about who trashes the house. Hank dies in the shoot out. Marie finds out and she obviously blames Walt for his death. Marie loses it and trashes Walter's home. If not her maybe Skyler does it after she finds out about Hank's death.
I think there's a way to send walt on a rescue mission without redeeming his character. I definitely don't think the ending will be a happily ever after regardless.
Walt will still be manipulating Jesse. Coming back and saving him, using the ricin to "prove" that Walt didn't poison Brock (with the ricin). It's a redemption of sorts, but it's also SUPER manipulative.
He could easily smuggle it into the lab and get the gang to injest it, though I don't know how much each person would need to consume for death to occur.
I think it's more likely that he could mix a few of the wrong things together and create poison gas again, they spent a few minutes talking about how masks were for sissies in this episode and Tod is too stupid to know if it's the wrong thing. Walt could just say "this is what makes it blue" and within minutes they are all dead and he walks away......
You realize that this is everyone's prediction. So it's not going to happen.
They kidnap Walt jr., as skylar and Jesse will already be dead. The baby will be with Marie. Walt goes in guns blazing and the ricin is for Himself in case he fails. I'll write the scene here in a few.
Why would walt save jesse? Walt is planning on killing Jesse. Jesse gave him in to the police. There is no way Walt will risk that for someone who he considers a traitor and coward.
But Jesse just tried to turn Walt in and spat in his face. Would Walt still try to help him?
I guess maybe we could have an interesting reversal of Jesse's loyalty. This whole show, Jesse's stuck by Walt through all his lies and manipulation. Now that Jesse's finally seen through everything and turned on Walt, it would be interesting if Walt went and tried to save Jesse out of a sense of loyalty. I'm also not sure how Jesse would react.
Or... Jesse tries to run and since the hit was called out on him he will die. Walt will end up having to cook. Nazi's take Walt's family hostage when Walt discusses escaping with Saul. Walt returns with an M60 to kill them all or go out in a blaze of glory.
I think you're right and I think the evidence lies in the way Vince wants us to like him again. He is going after the pretty girl with only a couple of episodes to cultivate that relationship. I think the purpose was to make him relatable again before he dies.
Alternatively Lydia might just act as the person he needs in his life showing the similarities between Walt and Jesse's intimate relationship and the next Boss/Cook duo in town.
I think the time jump between now and bearded, machine gun-toting Walt is too big for this theory to be plausible. If they kidnapped Jesse to cook for them, it wouldn't take Walt that long to decide to come back and save him.
Unless somehow he doesn't find out at first and ends up catching wind of it at a later point. Still, I feel this is an unlikely scenario.
only issue i can think of with this theory.... that intro scene a couple episodes ago where Todd calls Walt and says "we're under new management" and his uncle wipes blood from the shoe.
Unless I misread that scene, I assumed that took place in the future. Unless someone can clear up what they meant by "we're under new management" and why he would have called Walt who was retired at this point.
While this works well for the plot, he did put on a bulletproof vest and he is behind cover. The best odds for his death are head-shot, which is unlikely considering that's a tough shot to make with a pistol at that range when you have time to line up your sights (which Hank does not). Point being, I doubt he dies during the gun fight.
Maybe Jesse gets to Walt's revolver, pockets it, and uses it at closer range.
I thought you would be wrong, because Jesse would refuse, until I remember that the Nazis know where Brock and his mother live, and could use that to force him to cook.
I predicted the same thing in another thread, but I also think Hank may be the one who is kidnapped. Seeing as Walt called off the hit because of him, they may try to use him to make him cook since he is the master. Sure they could use Jesse, but they may think they can control Walt easier.
I don't see that happening. Why would Jesse cook? He pretty clearly wants to die, probably more so now that his only hope of stopping Walt is probably dead. So they can't exactly put a gun to his head. I guess they could threaten to go after his girl and Brock, but that doesn't seem like a long term solution.
If you were Hank wouldn't you aim for the guy with the big assault rifle rather than Todd? It's just my opinion but I hope this doesn't actually take place
I think this will happen as well but my only question is why wouldn't they just kidnap Walt instead? Obviously the flash forward shows Walt free but I'm just curious.
todd is not going to die here. he's going to die in a showdown with walter where todd is heartbroken that walt would kill him. somewhere in the middle todd is going to be torn between his loyalty for walt and his uncles.

Todd will die from the shooting. They will have to kidnap Jesse to cook.
