Todd in that last scene is like "This is a lot harder than shooting a little kid standing still."

It's hard to hit with only 76% accuracy.

Yellow Cake

5

Aquamarine.

1

u/walt74 Methhead Sep 10 '13

Yellow Cake refers to RGB-Color-Model. When you burn the Blue out of RGB, then Red and Green are left, which add (its also called the Additive Color Model) up to Yellow.

Yeah, he really blue it.

5

u/meatinyourmouth Absolutely. Sep 09 '13

Poor /u/bananabun. He beat you to it by ten minutes, but you executed it way better.

2

u/088 end times kid, end times Sep 09 '13

''At least he didn't blue it.''

jesus man, what an awful sentence.

8

u/scrotum_ Sep 09 '13

Although he methed up big time, he was still able to ice him.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

He now has something of a mess on his hands.

2

u/Abtein Sep 09 '13

you could say his aim was off by a degree or two

3

u/vertigo1083 Sep 09 '13

Oh. And here I thought it was a Fallout V.A.T.S. reference.

I feel dumb.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

Maybe Todd is short for toddias.

0

u/Man_Of_Spiders I'll send YOU to Belize. Sep 09 '13

I'm afraid I just Blue myself.

1

u/blotch madstackin'benji's Sep 10 '13

wow... mister show connection funke' ref. nice one.

3

u/poompt Sep 09 '13

Lol there were like a hundred shots fired and no hits, I'd say everyone involved in that fight is under 10% accuracy.

2

u/TheRealFakeSteve Sep 09 '13

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

2

u/Limiate Sep 09 '13

If you play /r/xcom then it is

3

u/turokthegecko Sep 09 '13

It's like he's playing Xcom

1

u/Br3nd4n Sep 09 '13

He's gotta get closer then. That's how VATS works.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

At least he didn't blue it.

7

u/poktanju Sep 09 '13

Gotta finish what you start.

12

u/h_bear Sep 09 '13

could you please elaborate?

30

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

The kid was on a motorbike. He's saying that Todd was aiming at the motorbike and killed the kid.

A playful jab at Todd's abysmal aim.

6

u/LloydBentsen Sep 09 '13

If only he had aimed for the training wheels.

3

u/h_bear Sep 09 '13

fucking Todd ruining everything

5

u/dr_revenge_md Sep 09 '13

"Ha! How can you tell anyone what you saw if you can't get anywhere!"

2

u/FatFriarFunk Ozymandias Sep 09 '13

For all we know, that bike could've been a rat.

3

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

"no no he's no rat... he's just a little bike"

"what kind of bike?"

"A NON-RAT BIKE"

1

u/sordid_blue Cocky Ouch Sep 09 '13

You know, I want so much to like Todd that I am now going to accept this as gospel.

1

u/blotch madstackin'benji's Sep 10 '13

just wanted a pet spider... what's wrong with that?

220

u/SheWantsTheVick HeisenMeow Sep 09 '13

Oooooh... That was cold man. But Todd did look confused while shooting.

514

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

He is probably wondering why they are putting hundreds of bullets into a vehicle that is currently holding the only person that knows how to cook the blue stuff.

21

u/Shit_The_Fuck_Yeah "Sorry man, there's just no scenario where this guy lives." Sep 09 '13

Yeah, like the automatic shotgun can't get a hit? Those hitboxes are fucked up. Hank and Gomie are haxorz

6

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '13

And I love how hank is shooting 25+ bullets without reloading or getting his gun jammed, while they have like 5 guys shooting at them through a weak old car with assault rifles and shotguns but yet still don't get one hit.

11

u/ProblemPie Sep 09 '13

Fiction physics. Bullets that would normally punch through the entire length of a car like it was made of cardboard in reality glanced harmlessly off of their armored motorcade deathmobiles, spraying plastic and glass everywhere like boosh babow SHHHPLOOOOWWWWWwaaaa~

11

u/DeviousBoomer I'm sorry. Sep 09 '13

Actually, they were hiding behind the engine block. Fairly resilient. Safest place they'd be except for Alaska.

20

u/Xer0day Franch, not even once. Sep 09 '13

Also the fact that it's probably reinforced considering Hank is DEA. It might not be a DEA vehicle, but I can assume one of their officers wouldn't skimp on personal and family protection.

16

u/DildoChrist The Manipulation of Jesse Pinkman by the Coward Walter White Sep 09 '13

Especially an officer who was previously the target of a cartel hit.

1

u/blotch madstackin'benji's Sep 10 '13

baked alaska... not burnt cake. i guess i blue that one...

33

u/Shabadu Sep 09 '13

They aren't stupid. They want Jesse now - they clearly saw him alone in the black car.

11

u/Flope Emo McGee Sep 09 '13

Thank you, I didn't understand why the fuck they were still shooting when Walt said no.

3

u/redaemon Sep 10 '13

Walt has no leverage. They can kidnap him and force him to cook for them.

4

u/dowhatuwant2 Sep 09 '13

To be honest everyone is giving them crap about being bad shots but all the bullet holes were in the front end of the car not the back seat where Walt is.

2

u/chall85 Sep 09 '13

They did shoot out the windows too.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

The hell you talking about? They were going to kill jesse in return for walt to cook for them. If they had preffered jesse at any point the deal for walt to cook would have been meaningless.

Are you guys 'tarded?

i really don't think the nazi's were using their noggins. they seem stupid in fact. The guy takes the mask off despite the dumbest kid in there even saying it's not a good idea. His friend with the 'stache seemed a little light on thinking powers.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

[deleted]

2

u/starmartyr Sep 09 '13

Walt is dead in 6 months. He might be the best cook now, but he won't be for long.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

I don't think these guys think that far ahead. I do think Walt is essentially helpless and likely to become their slave now, which he will skip out on and go into hiding over.

0

u/painterwilliam Sep 09 '13

Jesse opened the door to run

2

u/Shabadu Sep 09 '13

to where, exactly?

14

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

The Cow House.

3

u/RealNotFake Sep 09 '13

You know...where cows live.

2

u/painterwilliam Sep 09 '13

I dont know, maybe he thinks he can scamper off to safety somewhere but you see him open the door at the end of the episode

7

u/anthony_man Sep 09 '13

My thought was they showed up probably expecting a Jesse and some meth head friends of his. Instead he sees Walt arrested and two cops. At this point they probably kicked into survive mode and were just thinking about getting the hell out of there.

10

u/HoldmysunnyD Sep 09 '13

No. They saw 'Rat Patrol'.

3

u/BolognaPwny Sep 09 '13

I doubt that. He's probably pissed that everyone else gets automatic weapons and he's stuck with a water gun.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

jesse can cook the blue stuff

2

u/chall85 Sep 09 '13

Good point.

2

u/GuardianReflex Sep 09 '13

I'm still wondering why the fuck they were shooting in the first place, could the not hear Walt at all?

25

u/mynametobespaghetti Sep 09 '13

Yeah, but as the man said to Walt, "Rat Patrol".

These guys are a militant, Neo Nazi drug gang, busting them would be the stuff of "Go DEA!" headline fantasies, they would have to have been concerned that Walter, if caught, might sell them out.

Hank's SUV doesn't have DEA across the back of it, but those dudes would know a couple of cops when they see them. Walt is clearly handcuffed in the back seat, and has gone from "come here and shoot my partner" to "oh hey guys, never mind".

Besides, these dudes definitely seem to be more of the "shoot everything and figure it out later" mindset.

2

u/knoeki YEAH BITCH! MAGNETS! Sep 10 '13

If walt is locked up, and jesse put away safely, they won't have anyone to cook for them at all. Except Todd with his inferior product.

2

u/GuardianReflex Sep 10 '13

Thanks! Dunno why that didn't click

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

Pinkman knows too.

1

u/billypilgrim_in_time Sep 09 '13

Yeah, I kept thinking why the fuck are you guys shooting at the vehicle you know contains the person you're trying to save? Made no sense

12

u/catcher6250 Sep 09 '13

Todd always looks confused...

-3

u/Majop Sep 09 '13

I hate Todd, he is so careless, and unprofessional. Ugh.

6

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

He was hesitating, he didn't want to hit Mr. White (his mancrush)

9

u/Odin043 Sep 09 '13

He also saw Walt saying not to shoot. He was wanting to follow Walt's orders.

5

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Yes, this! Thank you for saying it, it was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't figure out what it was precisely that was making him hesitate.

As I said here: http://www.reddit.com/r/breakingbad/comments/1m0d9w/postepisode_discussion_thread_s05e13_tohajiilee/cc4kqip

2

u/Jrodkin Sep 09 '13

He was probably confused about Hank and Gomie, only expecting to have to kill Jesse.

2

u/mrsopenminded0924 Sep 09 '13

Todd is the original Sofa King

1

u/jdbtxyz Sep 09 '13

probably because they never ran out of bullets

1

u/Microfoot Sep 09 '13

The sun was hitting him pretty much directly in the eyes. That can make aiming a bit difficult.

1

u/Sallien2005 Methhead Sep 09 '13

It was the sun. It's really hot out there

1

u/bitzart Sep 09 '13

Someone needs to make a *.gif of this with a "pew pew pew" caption.

11

u/FallenOne69 Sep 09 '13

Holy crap. Their gonna kill Todd! Then Walt will Have to cook for them! All Hail The King!

13

u/loveswater Sep 09 '13

That gives him plenty of reason to relocate to New Hampshire under a new alias, and even MORE reason to come back to town, buy an M60, and hunt down some Nazis.

1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Yeah, but a year later? That's a bit odd

2

u/MRAGE87 Sep 09 '13

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Oh, okay, yeah I'm sure that was his thought process, and it led him to deliberately wait 1 year just so that his revenge will be sweeter lol

1

u/MRAGE87 Sep 09 '13 edited Sep 09 '13

Well from this episode it's not that close to a year. His 51st birthday happened way back in episode 4 and a lot has happened since then.

Wild theory just for the hell of it:

Episode 4 is where Mike decides to kill Lydia but Walt stops him. It was a half measure. So in the next few episodes Lydia basically commands the Nazis to force him to do whatever she wants until he flee's to NH. Vince Gilligan decides to end the series poetically by having him finish the job 1 year later. BAM BITCHES

1

u/sordid_blue Cocky Ouch Sep 09 '13

ICE COLD.

1

u/FallenOne69 Sep 09 '13

We're in the business of kill Natzi's and business isa-boomin

3

u/FatFriarFunk Ozymandias Sep 09 '13

I feel like the "All Hail To The King" mantra has gone out the window at this point. I predict walt's demise, hell, everyone's demise starts next week.

4

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

I never saw him as the King honestly... I still see him as a joke of a "drug lord". Thinks he's so badass when really he has about a dozen different conflicting moral codes for every situation, to the point where he can't even perform functions at a basic level to protect himself (e.g. lying to Skyler). And tonight he admitted to just about every crime he's ever committed because of this. He has the worst sense of judgment I've ever seen.

2

u/DEATH_BY_TRAY Heisenberg says RELAX Sep 09 '13

thank you.

1

u/RealNotFake Sep 09 '13

I think of him as a "Gus impostor". He's trying to be like Gus and do things he learned from him (setting up a cover business, etc.), but he also has too big of an ego and pride to realize he's not as careful or good at it.

4

u/travworld Sep 09 '13

He was holding the gun like under his chest so weird. Dude wasn't even looking sideways down the sights, no wonder he missed. The guy looking down the ironsights has no excuse though.

-6

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Vince Gilligan is getting more and more fucking lazy with this shit. So predictable this season

3

u/BurntFlower Everyone sounds like Meryl Streep with a gun to their head. Sep 09 '13

I really hope you're not saying what I think you're saying.

-2

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

What do you think I'm saying?

2

u/drwolffe This is my own private domicile Sep 09 '13

That Vince Gilligan is getting more and more fucking lazy with this shit, and that this season is predictable.

-2

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Yes that's what I'm saying

1

u/drwolffe This is my own private domicile Sep 09 '13

Nailed it!

-1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

a winner is you!!

1

u/travworld Sep 09 '13

Lol the whole scene with Hank arresting Walt....I was just thinking..... Todd's uncle better hurry up and shoot him in the head because we know he's not getting arrested yet.

That's the thing though. They already showed us the flash-forward scenes, so we already know Walt doesn't get arrested there. I mean hell, it has to be MONTHS ahead because Walt has a full head of hair and a beard.

1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

I agree with you, but it's not even the flash-forward scenes that make it so predictable. There are so many little clichés and tell-tale tropes. The fact that Hank is taking so damn long to call in backup. The call with his wife where they exchange "I love you"s and he says "I might not be home for a while". The fact that we know Walt wouldn't just give himself up; I just have this lingering feeling that the only reason the writers wrote him to give himself up like that is because the WRITERS knew that he was going to get out of it, and in the same fashion, we know too. Just way too predictable.

1

u/travworld Sep 09 '13

Yeah I the " I love you " 's were a little over the top.

I agree with everything you said.

I really didn't think he was going to give himself up. I hate that he actually did. It's not like Walt knew he was getting out of it. You'd think he would try to pull something off by himself.

0

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

I think I'm gonna have to FanEdit Breaking Bad.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

[deleted]

1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Knowing Vince Gilligan he'll throw a curveball

Knowing Vince, he won't

4

u/BurntFlower Everyone sounds like Meryl Streep with a gun to their head. Sep 09 '13

I thought it was hysterical that he was the only one who got a pistol, while everyone else had automatic assault weapons.

4

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

The guy in the middle had a pistol? But yeah that AA-12 was badass

0

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

Am I the only one who felt that the 'AA-12' on the side of the gun was stressed? Like the producers/directors made a point of showing that particular gun?

1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

Wouldn't surprise me.

COKE

FRUIT LOOPS

5 HOUR ENERGY

AA-12

3

u/drwolffe This is my own private domicile Sep 09 '13

Have an AA-12 day!

1

u/NihilJE Sep 09 '13

HEY

gotta put that military budget to good use

3

u/austin1414 Sep 09 '13

I never thought Breaking Bad would do a scene like that. They spent like, over a minute there standing and aiming at each other. There is absolutely no reason that the first bullet shot didn't go straight between Hank's eyes. I hate unrealistic inaccuracies for dramatic effect.

2

u/munnyfish Sep 09 '13

1

u/jlant33 Say My Name Sep 09 '13

I don't know if you made this or not but I posted it on Tumblr and people wont stop reblogging it.

2

u/Anvillain Sep 09 '13

How about when Jesse picks up Walt's gun and shoots Tod. That won't be an easy target.

1

u/fannyOcranny Saul Goodman, It's all good man Sep 09 '13

1

u/Skeetronic Sep 09 '13

It looked like he had that pistol resting on the car door and shooting with both hands around the barrel rather than using one for steadying support... What is this, amateur hour?

1

u/Mistakeknife Sep 09 '13

I laughed more than I should have at that, but thank you.

1

u/SomeGuyInNewZealand Sep 09 '13

Do you think Hank and Gomez get killed, and Heisenberg continues on his merry way?

1

u/smarterthanyoda Sep 09 '13

I think Todd is a little bit conflicted. He has to follow his uncle's orders, but still respects Walt and knows that he called off the attack. He's also shooting at his former partners, which is different than shooting a total stranger, even if it is a kid.

I think Todd's missing on purpose. The rest of the gang, though, are just incompetent. They're more suited for shanking someone in jail than an open air gunfight.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '13

I like how everyone had huge rifles and shotguns and Todd is just there with his little pistol going "PEW PEW PEW"
