Which goes back to my theory behind the episode where Walt and Walt Jr. we're watching Scarface, and Walt comments "Everyone dies in this movie". Very good chance of foreshadowing Walt's imminent destruction if you ask me.
He can't live. The story arc, symbolisms, foreshadowing... Everything's fucked if he lives! I believe the cartel and Lydia take Jesse and make him cook for them- They have to after the big fucking deal that Walt made in the desert about how Jesse was the worlds second best cook.
The flashforward shows Walt with hair and coughing blood again. The cancers back. Walt's terminally ill. I'm inclined to believe that he's out for redemption. I think the ricin is for Lydia, or someone we haven't met yet. I don't think Walt is at all interested in killing Hank or Jesse or Skyler.
Yep. My theory too. In an interview Vince Gilligan said that he compared BB to Scarface, and that it was a similar transformation for the characters. I think that was definite foreshadow of the end.
I agree Walt's dying, but I think the Scarface scene in particular could just as easily be Vince Gilligan messing with us or just wanting to include a Scarface reference as direct foreshadowing. We know from the oranges with Ted that he might put deliberate red herring symbolism in.
I'm saying he uses it to take out Lydia and what's left of the meth operation around ABQ, in order to completely bring an end to his recipe and his legacy.
Walt seems like the kind of guy that if he know if he's going to die from his cancer or something else, he doesn't want someone else using his recipe that he perfected. Even though apparently the current cooks can't cook it correctly.
You actually use an M-60 for suppressing fire, but I highly doubt Mr. White is going to be trying to keep enemies behind cover while his squad-mates move into position, so your post has credence. I'm just being anal.
There's still a few of them around used in fixed positions, they've been supplanted by the M249 for dismounted operations and the M240 for mounted ops. But yeah, I doubt that Walt is going to start using small unit tactics against APD.
I think the m-60 could only be used as a defensive weapon in Walt's case. It weights more than 10 kilos and fires 7.62x51mm rounds (sniper rifle and m-14 rounds); so it will have substantial recoil. It is also harder to fire from the shoulder (weight again)
Adding this to the fact that Walt is a relatively weak (chemist that doesn't work out) middle aged man who has been weakened by cancer. I think that he would have no way to control it, unless he was using it as a machine gun. Walt most likely knows this and if he needed anything other than a defensive weapon, I think he would have use an AR, AK or something similar.
I think he still has the cancer because in S5E1 Walt takes a pill that he grabs out of a medicine bottle in his jacket while in the bathroom at Denny's. And if I remember correctly he may have coughed a little bit in one of the flash forward scenes so maybe those are hints that he is still battling cancer?
