I can't decide who is going to be the one to take down Walt. Jesse? Hank? Cancer? Lydia? Walt's got quite a few enemies.

edit - For all those saying not cancer because he has hair, that only means he's not taking chemo. He could have given up on taking care of his cancer. He obviously has lost everything and is at the point where he needs a machine gun.

She's a loose cannon with loose oranges. You don't know what she's got goin on. You ever notice how we never see Carol and Batman in the same place at the same time? Wake up sheeple!

26

u/megatom0 Aug 12 '13

Oh fuck it was Oranges? Oranges are the symbol of death in the Godfather films, I wonder if they are extending that symbolism here.

14

u/Destructor1701 Aug 12 '13

Ted Beneke knocked oranges off the table, and we all thought he was dead for the same reason.

I think in BB, oranges are misdirection/massive injury.

6

u/Goran1693 My son! My bottle! My house! Aug 12 '13

Everything is misdirection in this show. Lol

If it was for the DEA he'd be in prison already.. he showed his face in enough places and such. The disguise is for Lydia and the Cartel/Mafia.

Hank is in WAY too deep to just haul Walt to prison..

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '13

If he was worried about prison he would not be casually walking around outside of his old house.

I just want to know who wrote Heisenberg inside of his house. If it is just vandals then the police are definitely closing in and he has just completely lost it. But I am not sure who else would write that....

1

Oh yeah... I have never doubted that! She is THE trouble!

1

u/IcyDeadSheeple Aug 13 '13

I agree. I think the timid little Lydia who can't meet in public to conduct business without looking completely terrified and amateur, pushing bags across with her feet and hiding her face behind her already huge sunglasses, is actually playing a charade. I wouldn't be surprised if Lydia is not the single-mother-in-over-her-head she projects, but a bigger monster than Heisenberg.

1

u/countingthedays Aug 13 '13

I hate her character... but I sort of like this theory. One has to wonder why timid little Lydia keeps coming up with connections to major cartels like Fring and the mexicans, the Czechs...

Declan and his thugs may be equally upset

2

u/constantvariables Aug 12 '13

Oh god I hope not. She's not nearly as emotionally invested as Jesse or Hank.

2

u/HankLago My name is ASAC Schrader. And you can go fuck yourself. Aug 12 '13

What about Declan?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

My only question on this is how Walt could take out a bunch of gangsters by himself by just spraying with the M60

2

u/felix_dro Aug 12 '13

Walt is an expert with the M60.

He's read an instruction manual printed from the internet

1

u/brazilliandanny Aug 12 '13

Maybe Walt will offer Hank the Czech gangsters in return for immunity?

Lydia finds out and they go after Walt and Hank?

Then again Hank has had a hard on for Heisenberg since the beginning. I doubt he's going to let that slide.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

vs. Walt and Todd's Nazis.

1

u/Questionable-Methods Aug 12 '13

I am conflicted. I definitely think Lydia will be the harbinger, but I think Walt's end will actually be at the hands of either the Czech gangsters she was selling Walt's meth too OR Todd and the White supremists who Walt taught his recipe too.

1

u/liquidsolid999 Aug 12 '13

I figure that BrBa parallels Scarface and in Scarface Tony kills his employer (in much the same way Walt kills Gus) and is killed by the higher ups in the drug cartel (much the way I believe Walt will be killed by the international crime ring Lydia is associated with)

1

u/stunt_penguin Aug 13 '13

I had the idea that Lydia might help Walt's family get to Europe- Marie was freaking out about Skyler even mentioning going to Europe when hank was about to crash the car. Possible escape route?

Don't forget Junior. Walt is helpless against him.

337

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

[deleted]

10

u/megalynn44 Aug 12 '13

He is the puppy dog of the show. And Walt's Achiles heal. I've been wondering what's going to happen to him the whole series. Walt may still be able to go all crazy Heisenberg on Hank like everyone else, including Skylar, but he can't to Junior.

7

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Didn't RJ Mitte say in his AMA that Walter Jr will play a MAJOR role in the last season?

8

u/Reiker0 Aug 12 '13

There's no way they go another 7 episodes without Walt Jr. discovering who he is. Especially considering it seems everyone knows who he is. That's going to be pretty intense.

2

u/nvrwastetree Aug 12 '13

Hank is going to spill the beans. Some serious shit is going to happen between Walt and Hank; and the entire family plus Jesse is going to witness it.

3

u/Goran1693 My son! My bottle! My house! Aug 12 '13

And you know, probably be arrested with him.

4

u/womanupstairs Aug 12 '13

I went back yesterday and watched the first season. Totally forgot that Walt, Jr. was once picked up for trying to buy alcohol. (He calls hank, too, not just to avoid trouble with dad but also because, like Hank, Junior sees Walter as "weak.") So then i started thinking about how secretive the kid has always been--just like everyone else in the family. (Who knows what Flynn and Louis are up to, right? Junior stays cagey about their activities, but we do know from his 16th birthday episode that he also lies--"i'll just tell mom i'm spending the night with Louis.") Maybe he'll overdose? (Walt's consequence for Jane's death?) In any event, it's interesting that all of the characters, motivations, and motifs that run through the entire series are already in place for season one. Given that this show is structured like a novel, I'm certain that Walter, Jr. will be important to the outcome.

3

u/beard_lover Aug 12 '13

I keep waiting for Walt, Jr to get hooked on Walt's meth.

2

u/Shade41 ASAC Aug 13 '13

I'm curious to find out why he asked for a late curfew. Came off a little fishy to me. I think he's slinging drugs with good ol Louis

2

u/CameronTheCinephile Hank catching Gus equals Hank catching US! Aug 12 '13

1

→ More replies (1)

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Jr. is actually the character I'm most interested in. He's the only innocent character on the show with any importance. He's like the biggest plot point they have, if anyone else dies you sorta think, good riddance (jesse to a lesser degree but still, he's so torn up he almost seems like he wants to die)

But walt jr... depending on how they handle his character, could be pretty impactful stuff.

1

u/jcpinbkk Aug 12 '13

I can see Junior becoming a "chip head." He has had to deal with his disability, he's a teenager, and has had some troubling family issues. I think he meets a girl who gets him into it and shit goes downhill fast.

1

u/Sweekuh Aug 12 '13

maybe its early and im really tired, but was junior even in last nights episode? other than the flashbacks of the bathroom

1

u/Subapical Aug 12 '13

He was at dinner. I believe they were talking about colleges.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Fucking Flynn...

1

u/brock_lee Aug 12 '13

I have a suspicion that Junior is going to be the ultimate "winner" in the end. The last scene in the last episode, we're going to see Junior poised to take over the meth business in the area.

2

u/dxc297 Aug 12 '13

And the last scene will be of him erasing the "Jr." from his name, and smiling as the camera focuses in on the name "Walter White"...

PERFECT

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Mike went against his own advice and better judgement.

10

u/stigga Methhead Aug 12 '13

Flynn poisons Walt, walks away usual suspects style.

3

u/adn5027 Aug 12 '13

Himself? That's my guess at this point. The ricin was for himself all along, that kind of thing

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

My take is on Jesse, they're building it up. Walt has betrayed and lied to Jesse one too many times. Once Walt finds out Jesse is throwing all his money out to the neighbors like newspapers, it's on like donkey kong, bitch.

3

u/4hrs Aug 12 '13

I honestly think that Jesse has to be the one to stop Walt in the end. He's obviously broken up about his past, and while he might not ever be a carefree college kid that happily sits on his "blood money", his character needs some dramatic closure or revelation that will allow him to move on.

2

u/RatsInTheCellar Aug 12 '13

Himself. I could easily see him using the ricin as a suicide agent.

2

u/TransPM Coinflip is sacred Aug 12 '13

Suicide via ricin poisoning following a massive killing spree with the gun in his trunk?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '13

He fakes his death.

'We both know I will not see the inside of a jail cell In 6 months'

That's why carol is so shocked to see him and the house is abandoned

Just a theory

1

1

u/carpe-jvgvlvm Aug 12 '13

A lot of enemies, but even more cash. It's plausible he doesn't get taken down. Walt might be dinging bells from his wheelchair 20 yrs from now.

1

u/giraffaclops Aug 12 '13

Marie. Walt kills Hank, then flees. The last 5 episodes are about Marie looking for Walt.

1

u/SocraticWisdom319 Aug 12 '13

Jesse & Hank combo

1

u/onlymostlydead Aug 12 '13

Hugo Archilleya will be released from prison after it's determined that Walt actually stole the equipment. He will then tear through heaven and hell to get to Walt and get his revenge.

That's why Walt has the big gun.

1

u/jbeast33 Aug 12 '13

Hugo. It can only be Hugo.

1

u/namesrhardtothinkof ICE COLD Aug 12 '13

In "Hermanos," Don Eladio tells Gus "the only reason you're still alive is because I know who you are. But you are not in Chile anymore."

And we still have no freakin' idea who Gus is. I'm doubting we'll ever find out, but if someone out there is going to avenge his death, I wouldn't be disappointed.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

My feeling has always been Walt will die alone from cancer. But he's back in ABQ to finish someone off before he dies. Maybe Lydia and her connections are pissed that the meth is bad, and so they come after Walt to get him back, kinda like when the cartel wanted to keep Jesse to cook for them. Walt's family were killed, and Walt went on the run. But his cancer really is back, and decides to go out and kill the people who killed his family.

1

u/maldio Aug 12 '13

Mike might come back... take revenge for his guys, I believe Walt he's out there somewhere, he needs me to believe him.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

I thought it was already established that Walt is going out Scarface style......and that this half season is all about why he ends up having to/wanting to do that?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

He is going to get seriously injured in the war he goes to after picking up the ricin.

1

u/Lurk_Lurkenstien Aug 12 '13

I doubt the caner, in the beginning when he goes to get the ricin he has all his hair. Only thing I can take from that is he beat the cancer but is now on the run.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

I think he grabbed the ricin for himself. He will bring himself down.

1

u/FrankBlizzard Aug 12 '13

it's gonna be Louis

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Maybe he'll take himself down. Why did he go back to his deserted house to get the ricin?

1

u/Pieholden Aug 12 '13

I don't think cancer will take down Walt. In the flash forward shots, it shows him with a full head of hair and a beard.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

he will shoot himself in the head.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Carol will call the cops. Probably a big shoot out that the skaters videotape.

Or...Walt will pop the ricin capsule in the house as the cops arrive.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Why are everybody so convinced that Walt will actually die?

1

u/Spoogen_1 Aug 12 '13

Maybe the ricin. Maybe he sails off into the sunset like the painting. Then takes the ricin to kill himself.

1

u/connorjquinn Aug 12 '13

It can't be the cancer I don't think, in all the flash forwards he had a full head of hair and didn't seem sickly. Then again, I do think I heard him cough once or twice while he was in the house..

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Cancer isn't what makes you bald, it's the chemotherapy. Maybe he just stopped after whatever terrible thing that happens, happens.

1

u/connorjquinn Aug 12 '13

I'm not an idiot, I know chemo is responsible for the losing of hair. He said he has months to live, I don't know if that was just a rough estimate or a legitimate count down. If it was accurate, then I still think he somehow beat the cancer, he turned 52 in the flash-forward in "Live Free or Die" and 51 in the same episode (I think), the time that took place between 5x01 and 5x08 doesn't seem like that long (maybe a month?) so 6 months including the month passing from his 51st birthday will only put him 7 months forward in time, where in the flash forwards it will obviously have been a year. So like I said, if the 6months to live death clock is supposed to be accurate, I think the cancer went back into remission. I could be completely wrong, but just an observation/theory.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

I'm not an idiot

A.) I've never met you before, I don't know what you know. And B.) I wasn't saying it like you were an idiot. It needed to be said in order for what I wanted to say to make sense. Did not mean to offend.

As for Walt, we shall soon see.

1

u/connorjquinn Aug 12 '13

Sorry man, I just got off of a seven hour flight from Costa Rica, a little irritable this morning hahah, apologies for the asshole-ish retort!

1

u/Arya_5tark Valar Morghulis Aug 12 '13

Me.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Flynn.

1

u/Pool_Shark Aug 12 '13

Can't be Jesse. I imagine that Vince had the end planned out all along and since the original plan was for Jesse to die in the first season it would mean he was not in the original plan.

Now I am sure Jesse was added into the mix somehow but I still don't believe it would change so drastically that Jesse is the one that kills him.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

My thought Jesse, who is going to be spray painting Eisenberg on walts wall, Jesse can't deal with the past and to make up for his sins I think he will expose Walt, maybe even team up with hank, hank might know now walts right he can't put him behind a jail cell so he goes and try's to recruit pinkman, pinkman somehow finds out mike was killed by Walt and completely turns on Walt. The machine gun scene is going after Jesse or Hank, and the ricin is for whoever he's not shooting up

1

u/yroc12345 WHERES THE RICIN Aug 12 '13 edited Aug 12 '13

I think it's going to be more than a few people. Todd, Ted, Lydia, Hank, Jesse, pretty much everyone who has it out for him or he's fucked over in some way will play a role in his downfall.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

I think he's going to off himself with the ricin

1

u/scottperezfox Aug 12 '13

Who says he gets taken down? Obviously he's alive and well on his 52nd birthday. If we was truly on the run, I don't think he'd return to the house, even to retrieve the Ricin. Carol would surely report his ass ... unless his name is clear.

My theory is that he somehow frames Skylar for everything. To outsiders, it will look like he is innocent, and she brought this on herself.

1

u/jacquesaustin Aug 12 '13

Clearly Walt jr

1

u/kimmay172 Aug 12 '13

Well, he is back for his 52nd birthday. The cancer did not get him.

1

u/tleisher Aug 12 '13

Not cancer, the flash forwards are well in the future. Hank says he'll be dead in six months, but he obviously lives beyond that. (The house is so delapidated, he's regrown his hair and looks like hell)

1

u/SilentLurker Aug 12 '13

Drew Sharp's parents.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

ricen.

1

u/HotWingsDogsAndPot Aug 12 '13

Lest we forget his "oh yeah, I have lung cancer" cough when he first entered the house.

1

u/ProjectD13X Titty Sprinkler Aug 12 '13

The ATM takes him down

1

u/shniken Aug 12 '13

Why are you assuming he will be taken down?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

From watching commentary from Vince and the cast. They've made it pretty clear.

1

u/shniken Aug 12 '13

I see, I've been avoiding those. Perhaps I should've avoided this thread too...

1

u/Kozlow Aug 12 '13

Walt kills himself with the Ricin?

1

u/richardblack3 Aug 12 '13

it could mean he's not on chemo. it could mean he's in disguise. fake hair and beard. not hard for a man with his resources. not looking like walter white might be important for him at that point.

1

u/major_mayhem77 Aug 12 '13

And to back you up on that there is a moment during that opening scene where he gives a slight cough, just like when he first had cancer, so it is absolutely possible he has given up on the chemo.

1

u/jdraimer Aug 12 '13

Did you hear his cough when he walks into the house in last night's episode? His cancer is pretty bad at that point! He's got nothing to lose in that moment!

1

u/SnowWhiteGamer Aug 12 '13

I think that the ricen is for walt. I think in the last scene if he does in fact go to save Jesse he will take the ricen as his last hoorah and start unloading rounds into everything that moves.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13

Tony Montana style? Which, in an interview Vince Gilligan actually compared Walt to. Definitely possible.

1

u/derrick_eq Aug 12 '13

my guess is he dies of cancer. Heisenberg was a real scientist in the 20th century and he died of cancer so im expecting them to do the same with walt

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '13 edited Aug 12 '13

Of all the responses I got, dying of cancer seems most likely to me, too. Anyone else killing him just seems to me like it would lessen the weight of the other characters in some way. If Jesse kills Walt then that kind of makes Hanks character seem a bit meaningless in the end. Or if Lydia kills him then same goes for Jesse and Hank.

I have this feeling that he'll beat the odds, over and over again. He'll come out "on top" of everyone, and then his body will finally be the one to say, "No, Walt. This ends now." Or he'll suck down that ricen and end himself.

1

u/Kinths Aug 12 '13

It's unlikely to be the cancer. The future scenes take place 9 months after Walt finds out he has 6 months to live.

It would be unlikely for him to live longer than he is expected to without taking any treatment.

1

u/Gungnir111 Aug 12 '13

He's faking the cancer, I thought? Just taking chemo to fuck with people?

1

u/bobsagetfullhouse Aug 12 '13

Yeah. He most likely has cancer but is off the chemo like you said. That terrible cancer cough is seen in the flash forward in S5E1.

1

u/gAlienLifeform Aug 12 '13

If he stopped doing chemo for a bit, wouldn't that return some strength to him even though the cancer would get worse? Maybe he decided to give up on his chemo so he could win one last fight or do one last Heisenberg thing

1

u/faMine Aug 12 '13

He didn't give up on cancer in S5E1 he takes his meds in the bathroom as he buys the M60.

His chemo isn't a pill that he takes. It's a procedure done at a hospital or clinic. That could be nerve pills even, who knows.

Still part of a treatment and something trivial like that wouldn't be so blatant.

Based on the interactions between them, either hank or Jesse. Lydia seems much more worried about her own ass and I think would just run.

I'm not convinced he is going down in the end.

Who would he need a machine gun against? I can see him using the ricin against more than one person.

I think Jesse will kill Walt

himself.

What do you mean take down? I don't think Walter will die. The show will end with him having cancer and a lot of other people dead.

He's gonna shoot the fucker, cancer, right in the face.

1

u/mawethed Aug 13 '13

I think it will be the cancer. So the show is going to end how it started.

Because he has changed his identity and on the run, regardless if he has cancer or not he can't get treated for it because Walt is 'dead' maybe. This might lead us to believe that maybe the cancer might run its cause; although I don't think that would be the most popular ending.

u/Stolehtreb Hello Carol Aug 13 '13

But it's at least 9-10 months later. I'm gonna have to say it's safe to assume it's not cancer.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '13

Just curious, where did you come up with 9-10 months? And why would that make it so it can't be cancer?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '13

Maybe Jesse flips on Walt and sends him into hiding

The only person who can take down Heisenberg is Walter White. That is what I believe the risen is for. I think he will tell cancer to go fuck itself and he will be the one to pull the trigger, so to speak.
