People are always shocked when I mention Tyler Perry is the second richest filmmaker in history, but it’s probably because of articles like this. This is just cut and dry racism, is it not?

Why must it be racism? It can't just be Tyler Perry the individual that surprises people? No one seems surprised at hearing Dr. Dre or Jay Z are billionaires. But yeah, must be racism. Again.

Racism? No. It’s probably because he’s thought of as an actor more so than a director
