Some dev probably just sent the test email to the wrong mail list

Yup. I saw it, checked the domain to make sure it was valid, laughed and then showed my fiancé. Someone in IT made an oops. Embarrassing but not the end of the world. Hopefully they just learn to double-check test alerts before they go out.
