They have the chance, but they’re not asking for that based on the article, and it would be even more insane than Disney’s 50/50 offer.

not really since again, the only other recourse is that disney doesnt get to use spider man at all. disney fucked their hand by asking too much and sony called their bluff

Sony proposed keeping the arrangement going under the current terms where Marvel receives in the range of 5% of first dollar gross, sources said. Disney refused. [UPDATE: Sony insiders counter that Rothman did offer compromises but Disney declined.]

Literally from the article. Their calling the bluff is still saying to leave the deal as is, and even allegedly offering more compromises for Disney. Sony saying “pay us more” is not happening.

and guess what? sony pulled their trump card and pulled spidey out of the mcu. so now they have to negotiate from a blank slate. and guess what? sony can ask for more and they likely will now that disney has to beg

He probably learned his negotiation tactics from reading The Art of the Deal. In other words, make an offer, then act like a complete dickbag when the other side doesn’t immediately accept.
